Re: Taipei YouTube Clips
dj plays the slow part, bumble the fast wah wah part.
dj fail, as we could hear on the practice session vids of some months ago, he cant play that, so bumble does it.
you can even see it on the big screens in the vid, dj stops playing and the shot goes to bumble and he plays it. same with outro, is bumble.
small chance its even fortus but definitely not dj. we will see soon when better quality appears.

Re: Taipei YouTube Clips
who cares who plays what if it sounds good?
Exactly.
And as far as I'm concerned, GN'R now has 3 lead players all taking turns. DJ wasn't hired to fill that spot alone.

If that's the case, then why the fuck is the guy even in the band? According to you, he's a lead guitarist in a band, that doesn't play any part to their biggest hit.
What a waste of money and space that'd be.
there are 3 lead guitarists though.
but again, when higher quality vids appear you will see its true. the tone is even radically different and u hear the last E note of dj ring out while someone else is playing the fast wah wah part.

There are not 3 lead guitarists. There are 2 lead guitarists and a rhythm guitarist, and as any of us who've seen them live knows, Fortus doesn't play shit, except jump through the air strumming, looking like a jackass. The shows I was at was primarily Ron & Robin.
And i'm sure this one will be Ron & DJ.
I'm not saying you're wrong, i'm gonna reserve that comment, because I don't have my own proof. But Fortus? Bullshit it is...
Exactly what songs are 3 guitarists necessary for?
Two rhythms and a lead. It's been that way since the Illusion's, and that's why the UYI songs during that tour sounded slightly different to the studio versions. In the studio Izzy recorded a rhythm and Slash recorded a lead AND a rhythm, and they were layered together.
The CD era having 3 guitarists is just Axl taking the concept out of the studio, and putting it on stage. That's why i've never really had an issue with it. Although I haven't seen Fortus do much in the time he was with the band. All of those shows, including the ones with Paul, the big backbones were Robin & Bucket, Robin & Ron, and i'm sure now it's DJ & Ron.

every song can incorporate 3 guitarists...all depends on the composition they chose to incorporate...no doubt they could get away with 2 but they wanted 3 whats the big deal? definately gives the production a "fuller" guitar sound
