So I voted for Black and white because as a 5 year old boy in 1991 that song was of all of those my favourite

I'm actually surprised it only has one vote. The song was completely out of left field. Everyone was expecting another I Remember You or 18 and Life. Hell, even its ballads had balls. Had grunge not taken over months later, Skid Row would have moved up a level.

I actually went GnR in this one, although there's a lot of solid choices. Monkey Business totally deserves whatever praise it gets, that song and album are unapologetic metal. As heavy and legitimate as any other band up there.

But You Could Be Mine is a really great song, classic Guns feel and while I missed the original band's run, I bet the anticipation for UYI would be kicked up to fever pitch after this ass-kicker was out there.

Yeah it was. At that point in GNR's history, all we had heard from UYI was Civil War and KOHD. The Hard N Heavy VHS tape that had highlights of Rock in Rio contained Pretty Tied Up and Double Talkin Jive, but those tapes weren't widespread and when the band threatened to sue, the tapes were pulled and AFD tracks tacked on to the 2nd pressing.

I remember when reports came out that Don't Cry(the demo I assume) was being played in Los Angeles, I just about shit my pants. Band put a stop to that as well. 16

Yes, I still remember 1991 very fondly - what a great year for rock music.

I went with Teen Spirit - huge impact that set the tone for the next decade (and beyond). Close second would be Sandman and YCBM is worth a mention also.
