One thing about Pearl Jam, from 91-95 I truly think they were one of the best bands not only out there, but of all time. 10, Vs, and Vitalogy imo are great. Plus they had the song Yellow Ledbetter out there, but it wasn't an official release but people knew it & radios played it. They also had bootlegs/imports with the cult songs Dirty Frank and Footsteps (very eerie song) AND Jeff Ament & Stone Gossard were in Temple of the Dog, and Mike McCready was in Mad Season with Layne Staley.
Just a band on fire. I never got too into their post 95 stuff though.
Yeah, I've mentioned before how I was a HUGE Pearl Jam fan back in the day. They were next in line after GNR. Those first 3 albums were great, I agree with you there. I also liked No Code, but it wasn't quite as good. I bought Yield and Binaural but only liked a handful of tracks at most from each album so I pretty much gave up on them.
I gotta tell you though, I went to see them live last year and my love for the band was kind of rejuvinated. They put on an awesome live show. And the show I saw live was one of the concerts offered as a free download with the purchase of their new album, "Backspacer". So I bought the album and got the 2 free concert downloads and I gotta say. The new album is REALLY good. I think it's at least as good as No Code, if not better. I'd check it out if you've got the time. May your faith in Pearl Jam be restored. It's actually knocked Chinese Democracy out of constant rotation in my car, which is hard to do let me tell you. Now I alternate.
