If I were them, i'd just call it a day.
They're old, they're tired, they're 20 years past their prime... it'd just be better to leave it a memory of a great band than to try and continue it on sans Tyler.
Give it a couple years, and they could perform the occasional show together, and it'd be much more special to the audience because it would become a rarity to see them.
Regardless of what Aerosmith does, Tyler seems done with music, period.

That'd be like trying to replace Axl Rose, James Hetfield or whoever.
In other words: Literally impossible.

The masses identify the bands with their singers, cause they know nothing about music. Therefore it's tough to replace someone that talented and unique as Tyler.
The public didn't respond well when Perry was away from the group, they thought it was a fake band. Aerosmith without Tyler would be another fake band. Unfortunately some of the biggest bands choose this way, cause some members just can't accept that the other ones were integral and irreplacable parts.

I could see Tyler working as a solo artist, he could get some songs written for him, and has a memorable voice that could still own on a movie soundtrack or something....sadly can't see the rest of aerosmith finding a new singer in his league....
I think they should just take a time out, work on other projects, then get back together when they're less pissed off.

Tyler is an icon.
They should see the success rate of those attempts from past bands.
Aerosmith without Tyler is like...
The Stones without Jagger
Zeppelin without Plant
Queen without Mercury
Sabbath without Ozzy
This is a BAD idea waiting to happen. Guitar players are virtually impossible to replace... vocalists ARE impossible to replace.

Latest news report from blabbermouth: According to Steven, he isn't quitting Aerosmith, and he even made an appearance at Joe Perry's gig Tuesday night to sing Walk This Way.
That doesn't seem like something band mates who are fighting would do...
Seems like one big publicity stunt to get people along to Joe's solo shows perhaps?
