Ok so it's the Black Eyed Pease but still I think this is the closest ever to seeing Gn'R opeing for U2. Seeing Slash rip it up in this clip and knowing what band came on stage afterwards is like..... shit I don't know but fuck would that be cool. Axl should just get it over with and ask Bono if he can open for them 
Honestly what would be so bad about that? NOTHING! If you just like watching Slash play up close and don't mind watching Fergie dance(I sure as hell don't mind) watch the first video. If you watch the second video you can totally get a sense of how into it the crowd is.

I actually agree that Axl should now consider an opening slot on this No Line tour before its over. U2 is open to name bands being openers, and there is no shame in opening for U2, regardless of who you are.
With new dates starting to get confirmed, now would be the time to consider it. Do these Asia/Canada dates, then jump on board the second leg of this U2 tour.
At the Oakland show I would love to see Axl do a 60-90 minute set before U2 hits the stage. It would be a win-win situation for both bands and the fans in attendance. GNR would be the best opener U2 could ever expect to get and would draw even more attention to them, and U2 fans have listened to GNR at some point, at least as casual fans. Also, if Axl doesn't show up, very few in attendance would be pissed. You still have a kick ass show to look forward to.

I think stuff like this is kinda fun. I don't really have a second opinion about it.
It's nothing to go all gaga over like some people enjoy to do.
But that guitar tone was... Cringing.
It should only be allowed to be played when tuned down half a step.

I mean really. I love Axl's voice. I really dig bumblefoot and i'm looking forward to ashba. But come on, why rewrite history, it's fine to enjoy the new band and the new players. But anyone who thinks that Slash (with the others) wasn't a massive part of what made GNR famous and those fantastic old songs needs their head examined.
I can't even write that off as opinion when it's just so wrong. That's like me having an opinion that there really isn't any air on planet earth and we're all breathing pumpkin soup. You wouldn't defend me with "that's his opinion and it's just as valid" you'd throw me in an asylum and hide the key.

I was not impressed with the performance. Both Slash and Fergie sounded off to me. I much prefer their performance of the song from over the summer at that Slash and Friends gig. Fergie looked fantastic in THAT video. I think it sounded better too, but I was a little distracted.
Not liking the fact Slash is playing with the Black Eyed Peas and the likes, but I can understand jumping at the opportunity to be a part of the U2 monstrosity.

Personally I don't really care too much who Slash plays with. I will say that most of the time I think it's cool when your favourite artist performs on a special occasion with another band/artist. BUT when they are doing it every second day it certainly loses some of its lustre for me.
