Re: Creed tickets -just 75 cents- in Birmingham
i like a lot of turn-of-the-millenium bands - sevendust, dope, rob zombie, manson, staind, coal chamber, static x, etc but creed was never ever a band i enjoyed.
a really good snapshot of that time is the dracula 2000 soundtrack. i highly recommend it.
Re: Creed tickets -just 75 cents- in Birmingham
I never did like these guys, but I got the shit scared out of me back in grade 9 because of these guys. I basically started a website with Andrew Dice Clay jokes and a few opinions on music (pro-ICP... yep, it was a LONG time ago), and one thing I did was say how much I hated Creed. I sent the website to like two friends and I woke up the next day and it was semi-viral in my town. I got so much hatred for my Creed dis from older people in high school that I took it down. To this day, I have no idea how that happened, but a funny story.
So, fuck Creed, still.
Re: Creed tickets -just 75 cents- in Birmingham
The problem was also with Creed, was that they didn't appeal to a real rock crowd like I alluded to earlier. The fuckin' jocks and cheerleaders were big Creed fans, which turned us rock guys, totally off.
Creed was the Bon Jovi of their day.
Yeah I said it.

I disagree completely. Bon Jovi has diehard fans and 3 decades of radio success. The only thing they share is that they aren't metal and you don't like them.

Damn, man. That's some expensive shit right there.
75 cents? Plus a Ticketmaster fee for almost five bucks?!
Money ain't growing on trees...

No, he's right. Bon Jovi has had some other hits after 1986, and a resurgance lately, but a lot of nothing in between. For all you know that could still happen to Creed.
Creed, Bon Jovi, Poison, Nickelback... By whatever name it's all the same. Fairly generic poppy rock. Easy for the masses to latch on to, just like any other pop act, but with more guitar.
There's nothing wrong with it, it ain't hurtin anybody, but there's not a ton of "musical integrity" (for lack of a better term) in any of it.
Re: Creed tickets -just 75 cents- in Birmingham
I hate to admit, that a few of their hit singles harken back to my youth, even though I wasn't a big fan then either.
Even if you are a diehard Creed fan, you have to admit that absolutely NO ONE was interested in a Creed reunion. They were a fleeting band, stuck firmly in their time.
Creed didn't even appeal to a real rock crowd, who are the diehards that will follow you forever (see GN'R). Creed appealed to the Limp Bizkit crowd, another group that recently found out how much the world was interested in their return, which was none.
Guns N' Roses, Faith No More & Alice In Chains are back from the 90's, and even the reaction to their return was 'modest' as best.
Do you really think the Creed's will make it? This was a last ditch effort to squeeze one more drop out of the orange. The irony is, radio is playing that new single of there's, whatever it's called Overcome or something, morning, noon & night... nobody cares.
LOL I don't think i can agree any more with that statement. I love me some Creed. Tremonti is/was an amazing guitarist. I still listen to their old stuff reguarly, but I'm far more interested in new Alter Bridge than I ever will be Creed.

Bon Jovi is in no way comparable to Poison or Creed. To say so is purely ignorant.
