So Axl told Marco Beltrami every single note to play in TiL? Axl wrote the harp solos, etc?

Didnt Axl say the piece of music he was most proud of writing was the bridge section of TIL? That has some serious orchestra going on. Same with November Rain actually, in makingfuckingvideos he speaks about painstakingly piecing together all the extra sounds on top of the piano.

ASCAP has credited Izzy as a songwriter for Coma, but this is what Izzy said about that song:

"Stradlin starts winding the tape forward in search of a song he can't stop laughing about. "Slash has this song, it's called 'Coma', and it's fuckin' 15 minutes long. And I still don't know it, man. I have to take a special chord chart with me whenever we play it. There's like 50 chords at the end of it and I just can't follow them."

He calls it Slash's song and didnt seem to have much to do with it.

I don't think that's what he's intending to do James.

He's insinuating that AFD songs were already written by other people. He's done this before. It's nothing new. 16 ASCAP just added fuel to the fire. He once insinuated that Tobias was a major contributor to UYI in a background role.

So basically, if I came in and said "hey, let's put cowbell right here and then drown out the drums and I'll write a 0.5 second riff", I will be credited?

Final product isn't 15 minutes. God only knows what Izzy contributed to it before its final polishing.

I always thought 15 minutes was said with a little bit of sarcasm and exageration, kind of taking the piss out of it basically.

I believed it. 16 There was supposedly around a 20 minute version of NR at some point. I used to want to hear that really bad, but more than likely its on par with the extended version of In A Gadda Da Vidda.

GNR fan #2: Yeah, but he still wrote the songs, he just didn't play the instruments. By the way, did you know Slash and Duff didn't write anything? Traci Guns and Paul Tobias wrote that music.

Never said Slash and Duff didn't right a thing.

There's never been any suggestion that "Sweet Child O' Mine", "Nightrain", "Paradise City" ect... were originally recorded or played by other people.

"Sweet Lorraine", "Don't Cry", "Move To The City" ect... and several other lesser songs existed in some capacity pre-"Gn'R".

...Of course Mark Canter, knows alot less about Pre "AFD" Gn'R, than you.

Using fucked up logic in a losing argument. Maybe all the boards should shut down since Slash knows more than any of us.
