Re: Settle an argument for me please
Me and the missus were disagreeing on something earlier and Google is proving difficult to find the answer to our question, probably because its a fuckin stupid question but nevertheless... 
Assume a competition league table has turned out as follows:
John - 22 points
Phil - 19 points
Gary - 19 points
Rob - 17 points
John has won, Rob has come last and the other two are tied on equal points joint 2nd.
In your opinion, has Rob come third or fourth?

Yeah I think you have to saw he's 4th. Here is a good reason why, lets say there was money involved as follows:
1st $100
2nd: $50
3rd: $30
4th: $10
If Phil and Gary are equal second then theoretically they should split the prize money of second and third between them getting $40 each. If they only shared the $50 and you said Rob came third then Rob would receive $30 whilst people that beat him receive less money, ie. $25 each.
