Ozzy regrets Osbournes TV series

Ozzy Osbourne says his family's MTV reality show was an "experiment that went wildly out of control".

The Osbournes, which ran from 2002 to 2005, showed the often chaotic domestic life of the star, his wife Sharon and children Jack and Kelly.

It introduced the Black Sabbath singer to a new crop of fans, who were hooked by his bumbling ineptitude at everyday tasks like working a TV remote.

But the star told BBC Radio 4's Front Row the attention was "really creepy".

"It was as if I went to bed in one world and woke up in a completely different world," the 60-year-old said.

"We went down to this market in Beverley Hills where you can just walk around artwork and statues and dolls and all this stuff and I got this really creepy feeling.

"I look around. People aren't looking, but I could feel eyes on me.

"I thought I was getting paranoid or something."

The star, who is promoting his autobiography I Am Ozzy, said he was not keen to repeat the experience - even though his wife has forged a career as a TV personality on shows like the X Factor and America's Got Talent.

"I don't really want to do TV. I don't like doing TV much. Sharon loves it."

I always remember them doing the "family of the week" on the Big Breakfast,(a breakfast tv show) eons and eons ago somewhere in the early 90`s. They had a family of the week thing where some family that wrote in with some bullshit reason they wanted to be "TFOTW" and got to go down to the Big Breakfast house (it was an actual house, and very big) and stay there for the week and be a part of it all. Well the "Osbournes" happend along out of nowhere one monday morning and I was like WTF. Jack and Kelly were very very young still. It wasnt exactly the "osbournes" we have now, it was a mild family friendly version. Just thought I`d share.
I dont think there are any clips anywhere tbh.

Oh yeah I remember that, didn't see them on there but I always wondered what kinda bozos would want to do it. Though it was pre-Big brother and I suppose people didn't understand how lame reality shows can be. cool

I liked Johnny Vaughn and I like him now on Capital breakfast show, he's a tit sometimes like all Dj's but he makes me laugh.

(And Denise van O, well there were worse sights to see first thing in the morning! :beer:)

Also wasn't there a studio-based news show that was replaced by the Big Breakfast back in the late 80's/early 90's that used to be quite good for Gnr news, I seem to remember concert's being mentioned, and footage from Axl's st Louis-related arrest on there, which context aside was pretty cool coverage of the news I wanted pre-internet! cool

I definately think it was good for his career comercially. The test will be if its messed up Jack and Kelly being stars and recgonised at such a young age.

It's one thing to have a famous father and be cashed up, it's another when that attention falls on you.

I liked Ozzy better when he had the "Prince of Darkness" mystery to him.

But his family are not near as annoying to me as people make them out to be. I could easily see myself eating at their house.
