Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
Man that's going to be a killer band and show!!!
Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
One of the girls from the Pussycat Dolls
On the surface that sounds a little lame. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
I wonder how Perla is going to manage to keep Slash's dick in his pants with all the puss that is going to be around him.
(BTW I DON'T include Courtney Love in the above statement).

Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
Same info really but thought i'd post it:
Greetings all, how's everybody doing?
1st, I'd like to say thank you for your interest & support for VR & everything else I've got going on, you're fucking awesome, cheers!
Next, there are a lot of posts about the upcoming Vegas event, but the actual line-up for the Mirage gig Oct 2nd is: Tommy Clufetos on drums, Johnny Griparic on bass, Ted "Zig Zag" Andreadis on keys, John 5 on guitar, myself on guitar & Franky Perez, vocals. That, is basically the house band, my special guests that night are, more or less in this order: Rocco Deluca, Nicole Scherzinger, Courtney Love, Rick Nielson, Robin Zander & Joe Perry. Also, Matt Sorum is jamming a couple songs + there will be some other surprises. I also just got confirmation that the Joe Perry Project is playing as well, it promises to be a bitchin' evening. tickets are available through Mirage Entertainment on the Mirage website.
And, there is another gig I'm putting together for November 22nd for LA Youth Network or "LAYN" at the Henry Fonda Theater, I'll have line-up details for that event, which is a fund raiser & an awesome cause, soon enough.
Meanwhile, the solo record is in its mixing stage & the mixes to this point sound great. We have recorded 18 songs with one more I want to track in the next couple weeks. Regardless, the record is still slated for a Feb/March release.
Btw, a friend of mine hipped me to a wikkipedia site that focuses on the development of this album, the details of which are actually pretty accurate, although almost all of the alleged song titles are incorrect. Also, Jason Bonham does not appear on this album. Other than that its pretty right on.
That's all I've got for now, see you in Vegas,
Yours,
Slash iiii|; ),

Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
Suicide Girls was the opening band for Nu-GN'R in 2006. It's much worse than a one-off guest appearance on a song or two. So stop bitching about (only) Slash and please forget the 'mysterious Axl' bluff.

Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
"Mysterious Axl" is cool in the moments when he returns. Like when you've waited for 4 years, and suddenly he's booked 4 shows in NYC and on Eddie trunk out of no-where.
Or in RIO...when he played that video saying he cant be there...and then robin starts teasing the jungle riff.
It has its cool points....but really...at the end of the day MUCH of the "negative" stuff we read on these boards either has to do with fans wanting the old band back, which is what it is, but the REST of it pretty much relates to people getting sick of the silence, the lack of updates, the lack of reasons for when things don't happen like we expected. (Eg: The anger when Del posts info about a book but nothing on the band, or the better video or the 'whos in the band'). So really...i'm not sure anyone should request more Mystery from axl...especially when half the time you are frustrated at what he does!
As for slash. The dudes a kickass guitarist, that doesnt change if he plays with mickey mouse in my book. I think this show will be pretty cool - the band he has assembled should be pretty fun!
For my part I only wish Suicide Girls had opened for GNR down here so i could have had a perve, and I wish Vegas wasn't so far away from Australia so i could check out slash more often (i'm still pissed that VR cancelled their tour here).
Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
guys....Perla is in charge of Slash's career...
she's a gold digger...she feels that she got screwed of potential millions she could have had by Axl agreeing to a reunion....so she needs to make that cash up somewhere else.
She's a fan of plastic pop music, and she will advise slash to go for those personalities which will ensure top of chart positions....simple as that.
a pussycat doll will do just that...fergie will do just that.
this album is meant to bring slash into heavy rotation on mtv and at the same time stock the bank with some much needed dollaz...
we can only hope that there is something on there for us to salivate over.
Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
Hopefully the salivation isn't limited to the pictures and images (in possible music videos) of Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, whatever random chick pop star. This Nicole isn't supposed to be on the album though is she? Seems like an odd choice to invite for a 1 off show. I mean are people really rushing out to buy tickets because she's involved?
Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
IMO the album is going to kick ass. Even with some pop music guests, its still going to be cool to listen to. As far as Perla being involved in his career, it cant all be bad. I mean he's updating his fans on a very regular basis, sure its sorta just to help promote the album, but he's keeping us engaged.
