Re: DJ Ashba says GNR rehearses again!!
Can't you guys just shut the f...
Some dislike Robin, while some don't. DEAL WITH IT.
Re: DJ Ashba says GNR rehearses again!!
I personally don't like how Bumble does the outro so it kills it for me. The Bucket versions in 2002 were pretty good. But, in the end, I can live without it because it has never been one of my favorite Gnr tracks. I do understand why people would want to hear it though.
agreed 100 percent - although axl seems to nail that song often, regardless of what vocals he brings that night.

Least of which the blues solo near the end of the tour.
That's some real virtuoso shit right there.
I get it.... not alot of people like Robin Finck, but I sure do.
I just love stuff like that.
NJ solo was by far Robin's best performance with GnR
Re: DJ Ashba says GNR rehearses again!!
I could come up with either of those solos if I just sat down playing random notes with the occasional bend. When he's got other writers with him like Bucket I think he can be good but when he's sent out on his own to solo it's terrbile to listen to. I really like his solos in SOD, CD, TWAT etc. His solos on the record as a whole I really enjoy but his "interpretations" of the live stuff and his solo spots are awful.
His best stuff live are from RIR 2001 where he did Sossego and that solo piece with Bucket. Those are the videos you should post to prove his worth.

Finck is clearly a creative and talented musician
what he's not is a technically learned guitar player
that's why, when given time to adhere to the music, he can come up with some awesome stuff like his work on cd
yet make us cringe when he's asked to come up with something on the spot or play someone else's material.
one must know the scales and chords used like the back of their hand in order to use them on the spot and
their fingers need to be trained accordingly, through repetition, in order to play a pre-existing piece.
