Re: DJ Ashba says GNR rehearses again!!
I personally don't like how Bumble does the outro so it kills it for me. The Bucket versions in 2002 were pretty good. But, in the end, I can live without it because it has never been one of my favorite Gnr tracks. I do understand why people would want to hear it though.

Pay no attention to madagas.
If ANY song the new band has made their own from the old catalog, it's the consistently fuckin' mindblowing performances of Nightrain.
Slagging new Train, while defending the coma-inducing new era Patience is like... wow.

nobody wants to hear the solos...or very few people. Hell, I always used Slash's as a piss break. I don't get it. They have to know that people don't care.
I like a solo if it shows something exceptional on the instrument.
So like I used to enjoy slash's solo because he was showing pretty extreme control of the blues guitar style and that godfather thing was pretty impressive.
Likewise, the idea of giving bucket a solo makes sence cos he's a shredder from hell - so it shows off the skills sort of thing.
For this reason I can see the logic in giving bumble a solo to let him do some unsual stuff, like if he was to shred, or play 'guitars suck' with the thimble or something....but the problem then becomes if they give everyone else a solo to be fair....yuo end up with 3 guitar solos, then a keys solo and it sort of becomes a bit like a talent show......

Hell yes.
Well, it was Bucket who did it. Forgot all about Slash's solo, made his own instead and upped the song into the stars and beyond. It never sounded better than in 2002. It still makes my hair stand up when the solos are done.
Re: DJ Ashba says GNR rehearses again!!
I loved Robin's version of Patience, personally. But I liked the way the new band put a new spin on the old songs. I think Jungle was adapted well by the new band(s) and KOHD. But there are others that just sound like a tribute band playing the favorites... albeit, a very, very good tribute band.
If you're going to make the songs your own, fucking make them your own. Which is why I really want to hear the full SCOM 99.

Come on Ax, I wasn't slagging it...READ AGAIN....I just said I don't care for it. Personal opinion. AND, I was NOT defending new era Patience. I wish they would drop both of them.
and ps, if push came to shove and I was at a show, I would take new era Train over new era Patience.

Not to me.
Least of which the blues solo near the end of the tour.
That's some real virtuoso shit right there.
