Final Fantasy is extremely overrated. NBA Jam is one of the best sports games in history.

The version of NBA Jam that came out earlier this decade on xbox/ps2 that had Jordan, Bird, Dr. J, Kareem, etc. was off the hook.

Agreed, FF is "just another JRPG" for me. NBA Jam is the only sports game me and my friends kept coming back to (that and EA Sport's FIFA games at parties).

WHAT!!!!????
that's awesome..i NEED this game

and...reviews, my ass...

anyone that's old enough to remember NBA Jam when it first came out in arcades KNOWS....
the original game is the SHIT...

after midway sold the license to acclaim for console use, it started going downhill FAST...."NBA jam Extreme etc" are cheap ass pretenders to the original's crown...any of the "sequels" produced by anyone other than midway are pretty much dogshit... hence the shitty reviews...
the REAL sequels are games like "NBA showtime: NBA on NBC".. and "NBA hoopz"...

This would be a non contest on a gaming forum.

You take the average reviews of the "NBA Jam" series across the board and you get one of the worst sporting series in history.

As for "Final Fantasy IX" vs. The original "NBA Jam".

There were lines stretching to parking lots to play NBA Jam. While Tyler doesn't like the console versions, those were a hit as well and if you had a Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis at the time and had that game going, everyone in the room had to play it. It was addicting. Even my grandma remembers lines such as "from downtown". It was an amazingly unique game at the time because it made basketball so simplistic that even people who didn't watch basketball or know the rules could play it and enjoy it just as much as hardcore fans.

I'll take reality over reviews any day of the week.

Tyler, definitely search out that legends version of NBA Jam. You'll play it nonstop for days.
