Re: Laptop vs Netbook
my wife wants a netbook, does anyone know the differences?
i know that its bassically a peripheral device for a computer and that you cant have like a DVD player and stuff in it....personally i think i'd rather pay an extra $100 and just get a laptop instead but i cant really justify it as i dont fully understand the pros and cons of the 2 types of systems
my wife wants a netboook cuz its smaller, but there isnt that much of a difference is there?
also if i get a laptop it'd just be for surfing...i was thinking low end like 1.4Gb or 1.6 Gb
Re: Laptop vs Netbook
so if cost was a big factor....would you get the netbook? or spend a little more and get a laptop? like for instance for long trips my kids like to watch movies, i borrow a laptop from work now for them to do it...also my wife would want it to have ms office so she could do work if necessary and possibly put adobe photoshop for doing digital imaging
see to me it seems that we'd be better off with a laptop, like i dont even need it to be super big...15.6" monitor would be fine...my wife likes the idea of the 10" small thing though so we would have more room in the car if we had it in there

Re: Laptop vs Netbook
got my mother a netbook, its decent enough after I setup linux on it. battery life is lot longer than most laptops, due to the low power cpu, and the screen is quite decent too, can watch movies fine..
£180 well spent.
