We're going to call the new Les Paul "Slash Model" the "Appetite" guitar. It is modeled after the guitar I recorded that album with

Going to the Viper Room is like going back in time a couple decades everytime I go there, like a time warp. Cool, but disorienting.

Interesting that Dizzy Reed and Richard Fortus have their last show at the Viper Room tonight also.......

Slash, Axl, and Dizzy could have done something cool without the need of using the reunion tag. Shame he cant let go of the past. A performance of a little played Illusion track(Bad Apples, Garden of Eden, or even shocking hardcores in the crowd by doing Don't Damn Me) would have been spectacular during a Dizzy solo set.

Could have approached it like he did when he showed up at that Gilby show, although this would cause bigger waves than that for obvious reasons.

A performance would have brought tons of much needed attention to Dizzy's upcoming solo album.

Yeah, but in the end it never means that much.

Come on, Dizzy is like Duff... he likes everyone and everyone pretty much likes him. He's always been one of those neutral/mutual people in GN'R.

I think it'd be pretty awesome being Axl doesn't want to do ANYTHING, if Dizzy ran over to Slash & co. and them start a new band, with an Axl sound-alike, and run around doing GN'R stuff and some new GN'R-oriented songs.

I'm a big supporter of that. Those guys shouldn't let Axl stop them from cashing in on their legacy, that they helped build.

But their solo work comes first, which i'm curious to hear what both Slash & Dizzy have up their sleeve.

From "Chief" over on HTGTH

Ok so I can't really post a review since they only played for about 20 minutes.  i wonder who the genius was who scheduled so many bands before him?!?
Anyway, it was pretty fun regardless and Fortus played some mean guitar up there too.  Hope to get another chance to see them actually play a full set.  I think Dizzy mostly played his own songs plus a couple covers - Sick as a Dog and Riff Raff.

and as an added bonus, one of the bands that opened had a guest spot from Steven and Slash for It's So Easy and Mama Kin.

Don't mean to start trouble, but it's interesting to me that Slash would be around playing GNR tunes while Fortus and Izzy are playing. I guess it's kind of natural, but if I'd feel awarkward about it all if i were them.

Had Slash & Popcorn busted out Shackler's Revenge, that'd been awkward.

Then again, it would've also been absolutely hilarious.
