Re: what happened to the UYI era backing singers?
I dont think so, its rumored, but I think people are free to say what they want. Ultimately some chose to talk a lot and others chose not to, some people are just more respectful than others for whatever reasons. I doubt the backing singers had to sign confidentiality agreements because there no shortage of people who were in the band and worked on the Illusions tours who spoke about the experience.
I think the rumour stems from the contract they tried to get journalists sign back in the old days, the one where GNR would read and give the OK to any articles they were writing before they went to print. A bloody silly idea
I figure it was just that nobody ever bothered to ask the backing singers about the experience, and thats why they never spoke.
I never ever heard Teddy Zig Zag speak about GNR either until this fairly recent interview:

Re: what happened to the UYI era backing singers?
I heard that one of them died but I'm not 100% sure if its true. I've always been curious of what their experiences and recollections of the Illusions tour is, but I dont think they have ever given an interview.
Slash wrote one of them died of an overdose.
