Was eliminated in the last round.

This is getting tough. While I would possibly vote for Pump, I don't think two Def Leppard albums need to be in the top 10. Both those albums have killer tracks, but Rock Of Ages and Foolin pretty much slaughter most of Hysteria, so I'm voting for Hysteria.

Pump, then Def Leppard gets the boot.

I've got more on my other computer but it's broken just now and I've got a lot of other stuff on CD and tape as well. Yes a majority of that list consist of hard rock/metal bands but there's also a decent ammount that isn't. Is my opinion now valid?

Puppets like I said is considered to be one of the best metal albums ever and there's one simple reason why it's better than Justice. Puppets is mixed better than Justice by a country mile. Justice the bass is buried beneath the guitars and on top of that compared with Puppets the guitars sound a little, I dunno, weak.

Now if we go through this as a track by track comparision i.e. whichever two are most similiar which is better

Battery > Dyers Eve
Master Of Puppets > The Shortest Straw
The Thing That Should Not Be > The Frayed Ends of Sanity
One > Sanitarium
Disposable Heroes > Eye Of The Beholder
Harvester Of Sorrow> Leper Messiah
Orion> To Live Is To Die
Damage Inc> Blackened

Track by track Puppets is better and really all Justice has as killer tracks are Harvester and One. Now this isn't me saying Justice is a bad album, it's not its a great album and a lot of the tracks I put on the losing side I really like. It's just it's not as well mixed, produced or as well written as Puppets and all of this revisionist history about which album had a greater impact just really shouldn't be as importnat. Besides whether or not Justice had a greater impact at the time, in the big scale of things Puppets was the more influential album.

i'd prolly swap your choices there but otherwise pretty spot on on the assessment between the 2 albums

i don't mean to say ...and justice is not a great album. it's just that puppets is better for me.

i like shortest straw a lot, to be honest, and it's a highlight for me on that album, but if i put it up against most of the songs on puppets it just doesn't do it

like you said. one is better than everything on puppets except sanitarium but it's one song going against a whole album and no matter how i look at it puppets wins hands down.
