Re: Slash Begins Recording for his Solo Album
I don't mind people complaining about Axl not promoting in general, but to link it to slash...well we don't really need to do anything to encourage the Axl vs Slash mentality in the fanbase.
It means when CD comes out Slash fans have to hate it and Axl fans have to dislike Slash's record and spell his name $lash and that kind of crap....i'm so over it....Axl is awesome, so is slash! I think this record will be killer.

Enough with taking swipes already...
Get used to it bud. Axl will be dealing with that AFTER he dies.
He'll never live it down. Sorry.

Re: Slash Begins Recording for his Solo Album
SLASH has a secret weapon for the solo album, the songwriting talents of Wolfmother singer Andrew Stockdale. Stockdale is an Australian artist whose band wowed critics with their debut album. Stockdale said it was an incredible experience to work with SLASH, and he was honored to play with SLASH. After doing a session recording Wolfmother songs, SLASH came in; and the two just sat there with an acoustic and went through the song. So at this point, the artists on the solo album that we know of are Stockdale, Ozzy, M.Shadows, Travis Barker, Fergie, Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin, Flea, Ronnie Wood, Chris Chaney and Josh Freese. SLASH says he doesn't see how he can wait till next year to put the album out. The mixing has started already, but release can't come till early next year "for all kinds of logistical reasons". SLASH also says that he will be touring in support of the new album. The band Judgement Day announced on their website that they had done some sessions work for the new album. The vocalist on their track was Adam Levine of Maroon 5. So now Judgement Day and Adam Levine are on the album as well.
Re: Slash Begins Recording for his Solo Album
The only thing this album is missing is Rob Thomas.
If Slash continues doing solo albums(and if this explodes you can bet your ass he will), I hope he works with Buckethead at some point. He's gotta respect him as a musician, and while its highly unlikely Bucket would make the first move, Slash should approach him with the offer. If they do a song, just do an instrumental. Hell, even a 'Dueling Banjos' type thing would be really cool.
Re: Slash Begins Recording for his Solo Album
Slash thinks Bucket is technically a good guitarist, but doesn't play with any heart or emotion. At least that's what he said on Stern a few years back. I'm sure he holds resentment that Bucket took his place in GNR for one hot minute. If not for that, I doubt he would've said he plays with no heart.
Re: Slash Begins Recording for his Solo Album
In other words, Slash never listened to his music. Or probably downloaded Monsters and Robots and assumed all his trillion albums were the same.
Yeah he was real sketchy with his answer. He was asked about what he thought of Bucket and he said he never heard him play. Then a minute later his story changed and said he heard some of his stuff and he was a good technical player but didn't play with any emotion.
So yeah, I doubt he really listened, or else didn't give him a fair chance because of his affiliation with his former band.

Actually recently he said buckethead was amazing, but not a "true" rock guitarist. And he really isn't. Bucket is so much more than just a "rock" guitarist.
