Hmm... UYI 2 was at one point my favourite album, but now I can't really sit through the whole thing. Estranged still kicks ass though, and still has some of the most beautiful guitar melodies ever.

I would've picked Achtung Baby as well. Still a great listen today as it was when it first came out.

But man, in the early 90's we were really spoilt for music - UYI 1&2, The Black album, Dirt, Ten, Nevermind, Superunknown, even Bon Jovi's Keep The Faith was a decent album.

Yeah I was never a huge fan, I was in the Pearl Jam camp.  But I loved their Unplugged performance.  Great stuff!

UYI II may have a couple of so/so songs, but I think any album that has a masterpiece like "Estranged" more than makes up for any so/so songs.

OK Computer, Achtung Baby, The Bends, Nevermind...I think pound for pound are the best albums of the decade.

Personally I think it's Achtung Baby, followed by Black album, then myb Superunknown or In Utero. I like Versus as much as Ten too, so that's my top 5 or 6.

I like The Bends over OK Computer, and if soundtracks are included Singles soundtrack makes the top 3.

One I should have nominated was The Jerky Boys first CD. Seriously, that was awesome. big_smile

I'm sure it's been said but any album that has Get In The Ring, Shotgun Blues and My World on it does not deserve to win best album of the 90s.

It possibly features one of the greatest live performances ever:

I get chills sent up my spine when thinking that Kurt Cobain took his own life a few months after that.
