Re: Axl Eating His Words? (the song Sorry)
I wouldn't mess with the guy on the left...
Yeah, according to Axl.
And Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Hilfiger's "date", the people that were there...

Re: Axl Eating His Words? (the song Sorry)
I think the instances where Axl has backed down, such as the vince thing just relate to common sence kicking in rather than him being a pussy.
From everything we're told , I'd guess maybe he has ups and downs, and most of the time doesn't want to fight, but catch him in the wrong mood, press the wrong buttons, put him against a wall, and I'm sure he's not someone you'd want to fuck with.
I think sorry is probably directed not just at the slash camp but at the users of these boards, the media, and the general public. Some of it may be appliciable to slash, but I don't think it's as cut and dry as just as anti-slash song.
Re: Axl Eating His Words? (the song Sorry)
Just for a refresher
Axl (www.chinesedemocracy.com 12/13/08): I tried sending this ages ago but apparently it never went through. It was a direct response but now fits others questions on the same subject.
The whole whose it about bit w/songs doesn't work for me that much as in whether a line or whatever was inspired by a particular person or situation doesn't mean that in the end that's what or who the song's about.
I could be working with clay and think of someone or something and somehow that could inspire me to take the work in a different direction at the moment but in the end it could just be a nice vase.
I often wonder where the people who inspired so many songs are now and why it's only important with some songs such as Layla as opposed to others. I'm guessin' a fair # of beautiful love songs or otherwise were inspired by some that the artists and public might consider now or in hindsight to be the opposite of how they are depicted or allegedly represented.
With Sorry.. like a lot of the material is drawn from a lot of different situations. The main focus on the boards w/the track seems to be either Slash or "the fans" (and the collective of "the fans" is another thing that doesn't work for me) and is much too restrictive or narrow and limits what I feel I intended.
For me it's for anyone talking nonsense at mine and the public's expense and that many of those as well as the public don't know who to believe.
Also where possible I'd like to give people the opportunity to get what they can from the material for a while before clouding that with my inspirations. Of course that's not always avoidable.

Axlin08 wrote:Axl was really dumbfounded at why Hilfiger reacted so crazily, and over so little.
Rumor was from just about everyone there, that when it finally registered with Axl what was going on, Axl was raring up to break him in half, and by that point Hilfiger's own security was already escorting him away from Axl before he committed suicide.
Yeah, according to Axl.
We all know that there's 3 sides to every story.
And "committed suicide" probably isn't the most accurate description of what most people have done when they messed with Axl. Let's just be realistic here, please.
Actually several people, significant people, confirmed Axl's side, and very few, if any, said something from Hilfiger's side.
And "committing suicide"... yes, that's works in this case. It's Axl Rose vs. Tommy Hilfiger. That's like Jason Voorhees vs. an accountant.

Re: Axl Eating His Words? (the song Sorry)
i don't think axl was afraid of vince and vince is the one that ran off after the incident with izzy. after that it is all speculation. we know both of them challenged the other in the media and neither one of them showed up but that means virtually nothing for it would have been a circus with security or police following closely behind so nothing would have came of it any ways. they both knew that. they were doing image control at that point. if either one of them still wanted to fight they would have called them on the phone.
as far as tommy, what i read is that tommy slapped axl and axl had a wide open chance to retaliate before people stepped in and did not. maturity happens to the best of us. no way axl was afraid for he had already taken hilfiger's best shot.

The reality is, Axl Got punched in the face and did nothing about it.
Tommy Hilfiger wins as far as im concerned.
Its funny how throughout the years, Axl tells all this stories about fights in bars in shows with the other old guns members and then when theres the situation, he gets beat up by Tommy. That was just funny... Vince Neil would have kick his ass
