The runners up were Beat It and Thriller which tied for second place
Thanks to everyone who participated. It wasn't the surprise result we all hope to get in these GNR Evo tourneys but it was still a very deserving song.

As you can see Thriller and Billie Jean both got the highest number of nominations with 8 each, then followed by Beat It, Man In The Mirror and Smooth Criminal with 7 votes each. So statistically Thriller and Billie Jean were most likely to win this thing so the results aren't at all surprising.

Yeah, its such a great song from such a great album that no other result was possible. The fact the last three songs were from that album says a lot. While I prefer Off the Wall, nothing from that album stood a chance because Thriller is such a juggernaut. I'm about to kick off the nomination process for what will be our final decade elimination, and I guarantee that Thriller makes it on to as many lists as AFD.

I'm happy with this result. I think it and thriller were the obvious choices, but that's for a good reason.

Yeah, its such a great song from such a great album that no other result was possible.
The "Thriller" elimination series with the exact same final three and mostly the same voters during ROV, ended with "Thriller" beating "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" going in the penultimate round.
...Or so I think.

Jackson has such an amazing catalog, but Thriller is MJ's AFD. It just is unstoppable.
It'd been interesting if we'd have done an Elimination that excluded anything from Thriller, just to see how the other stuff did against each other.
