Buffy was an amazing show. Stargate, while also a staple in sci-fi history and a major success, could never be quite as exciting, funny, touching, or suspenseful as Whedon's masterpiece. Season 2 of Buffy might be my favorite single season of an hour long show ever.
And, as a Farscape fan, I liked Stargate more when MacGyver left and Crichton took his place.
Alyson Hannigan was/is hotter than Gellar imo.

I cannot believe SG1 is getting slammed by Buffy.
Whedon sucks. Never liked ANY of his shows. I was never big on Buffy, and Angel was a total lift of Forever Knight.
SG1 is another show that has blotchy spots as a show. Seasons 1-6 is solid TV. Far surpassing the film, and frankly, some of the best sci-fi TV ever, despite some obvious lifts from Star Trek before it. Season 7 is where it started to go a bit awry. The reintroduction of Daniel Jackson after his death, was more over the top than most moments in the show. Too over the top, and hard to believe. It was also tough for audiences who had just gotten adjusted to Jonas Quinn at the end of Season 6, that he's written off in an absolute flash, and gone. But then again, alot of fans depised him too. Season 7 the show started to rip itself off more, and the storylines started getting a bit ridiculous. Richard Dean Anderson was hamming it up more than ever, and every single performance seemed like him just phoning in one liners, and playing everything for laughs, although Season 7's finale "Lost City" was quite possibly their best episode. Season 8 was a low point. The stories were non-existant, and even I as a Jack O'Neill fan, wanted RDA gone at that point. He didn't give a crap anymore, obviously didn't want to be there, and using him to replace Gen. Hammond, just didn't work, because it took away from the missions who needed a bonafide leader, OTHER than Carter. It just didn't work, and episodes were getting dumb. The whole government conspiracy thing (can't remember there name) was a weak attempt at ripping off The X-Files "syndicate", which never worked, and episodes started to become to lazy, with even one episode involving Teal'C getting an apartment, having a romantic attraction to his neighbor, and becoming intangled in a murder mystery story, where he was accused of murdering her boyfriend. That's when I was like.... f off, this show desperately needs a reinvention. Season 9 brought that, and I loved it. The Gou'ald stuff was tired, the introduction of the Ori, as well as the characters of Cam Mitchell & Gen. Hank Landry, brought a breath of fresh air to the series. In some ways, Season 9, was better than Seasons 7-8, but it was short-lived. By Season 10, the show was once again, out of ideas in less than a season of reinvention. Season 10 was probably their worst, and the show felt majorly over. Although I did enjoy the DTV films "Ark of Truth" & "Continuum".
Shame that SG1 is getting slammed right now. I will never understand sexual love affair that internet folks have for Joss Whedon shows at all.
Ran into it recently with some geeks on Dollhouse. I was constantly arguing how Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a much better show, and should be saved from cancellation, while the Whedonites were droning on and on about how Dollhouse was better.

Re: GnREvolution T.V. Madness - Round 1, Battle 23
I liked "Stargate", but I loved "Buff The Vampire Slayer" & "Angel".
...By the way, I accidentally voted for "Stargate", take one of the votes from it and add it to "Buffy" if theirs a tie.
