Re: Slash Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter updates
I have these fanboyism dreams of an Unplugged show, like KISS, with Axl, Slash & Ron, Izzy & Gilby, Duff & Tommy, Steven & Matt, and Dizzy & Chris all jamming an acoustic show with Diz & Pit like on bongos & tamborine or some shit.
Toke up baby, it'd be a good one.

It'd be a helluva way to bring back MTV Unplugged

hahah..yep...although when I saw Steven at that clinic earleir in the year he was asked about Matt, and steven said his prior comments were because he gets upset when people treat matt as the only gnr drummer ever, and that recently matt had been resepcful of steven as the original drummer and that made him an ok guy.

Here's video of said performance, saw it over on HTGTH. Audio is pretty bad though.

That's weak. What Steve wants acknowledgement of is he wants to be referred to as "the real" drummer of Guns N' Roses.
The fact of the matter is, the most replaceable, rotating, non-important position in the history of Guns has been drummer.
I don't think anyone looks at Matt, Brain or Frank with any more fan fare than Steven, but he wants more, because he was on AFD.
Even most people accepted Gilby on rhythm in 1992/93. If the roles were reversed, and it had been Duff departing, it'd been the same. This has always boiled down to Axl & Slash. A mature person in-or-out of the band, knows that.
I don't know why Steven takes all of it so extremely personal. He was replaceable, unlike the other guys, got himself an addiction that impaired him to the point that he stamped his on pink slip - so he was fired. That's show biz.
He needs to stop trying to boot up 1991 in his life, and realize it's 2009, and that he's nearly 20 years removed from a termination, and move on, or at least accept the situation for what it is.
I have NEVER heard Matt trash Steven or go out of his way to make Steven feel bad. If Matt ever gave the impression that a reunion should involve him, it's because Steven is still the same Steven they fired (loaded with issues), and that Matt would be the only drumming connection to the old era, should a reunion ever happen.
Steven shouldn't be offended, that's the cold hard truth. The fans don't disregard Steven, we simply act in a manner, exactly like Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, Gilby, and anyone else who's talked reunion before, that the ideal choice obviously would be Matt to drum, for a good business to run smoothly.
Then they remembered Axl Rose would be on vocals, and said fuck it.
