I dont get the hate for "Slave to the Grind". Everyone is, of course, entitled to their opinion, and people may wonder about my opinion from time to time. But I thought "Slave to the Grind" is a very, very solid record. One of the best metal records in the 90s.

Your right but a lot of people just cannot get over the image and would brand a Band Like Skid Row un-Authentic when up against Grunge bands (and even tool and NIN though that argument is redundant in this case)

"Slave To The Grind" by the way was almost universally panned by the critics. I'm not sure it's that much of an image thing.

I voted for Angel Dust as well. Tried listening to that a couple days ago, and it just does nothing for me.

I was very disappointed in it the first two times I heard it. I regretted the purchase. But because a couple songs got my attention on first listen (Midlife Crisis, RV, Kindergarten, Be Aggressive) I kept playing it and eventually found the true, hidden gems of the album (Everything's Ruined, Land of Sunshine, Caffeine). But it takes some time. And reading the lyrics while listening is a must. The stuff Patton wrote on his sleep-deprivation experiments is really great, especially Land of Sunshine which is comprised of fortune cookies, late night TV commercials, and questions from a Scientology personality test.

I know in this elimination it's a lot even to make sure you've heard all the albums once, and I don't really expect anyone to take my advice, but if you keep playing Angel Dust you come to see why Kerrang called it the most influential rock album of all time.

Yeah, I didn't really dive into the record. I listened to it in the car on the way home. Mostly listened to half a song then moving to the next one. Since its not going this round, I may put it on again tonight for the hell of it.

I was never a huge FNM fan. Bought The Real Thing like everyone else, liked a few songs on it, but never followed the band after that. By the time Angel dust and other albums came out, I didn't really hang out with people who were listening to them. If you heard them at a party or something, it was always Epic or Falling to Pieces.

Exile on main Street Was blasted by Critics when that came out wasn't till almost 20 years later that it started to get any respect. As far as 90s Metal albums go its pretty damn good

I like Skid Row actually, but i've never understood the fan fare around Slave. I actually liked their self-titled debut more.

That first album is pretty killer I must say!
