Re: Best album of the 90s elimination- Round 1
Even with some incredible albums missing, it is still an amazingly solid list. The most bizarre thing about these eliminations/tourneys here is the fact women are always missing from the equation. M.I.A. is literally the only female artist to make it into any of these, and it was a first round exit both times.
I gotta vote off the Chronic. Not a huge rap fan and never liked male rappers except for a few songs here and there, and its competition is just too strong to keep it around.

Nahhh Skid Row. Dr Dre created the whole 90's West Coast Rap scene with The Chronic. Skid row was still a dime a dozen hair metal band about to get swallowed whole by the 90's.
I agree that the Chronic is/was a very influential record. No denying that. I respect its merits just like Dookie even though I don't like that record either.
Skid Row may have been a dime a dozen hair metal band, but Slave to the Grind was an amazing metal record with a few strong ballads thrown in which was a complete departure from their original sound. This band had the potential to be huge but grunge was their first nail in their coffin and that lame cover EP two years later sealed the coffin permanently.
That was worse timing and an even worse career move than TSI.

Pantera, only album up there I truly dislike.
