I went with Foo. Monkeywrench & Everlong are great songs.

As a side note, James I think we really could do a Top 64 elimination with the nominations. It'd be a shame to not include Dookie, Foo Fighters, or Temple of the Dogs album. And who knows whatever else is excluded. Just a thought. I'd be willing to help organize the rankings, not trying to steal your thunder though.

Its not a bad idea, but we currently just kicked off that TV Madness. A Madness style tourney is pretty elaborate, and not sure we need two running consecutively. In one of these threads I mentioned when we start up another music madness in the future, possibly revisiting this decade in more depth.

I'm not even sure 64 is enough to properly do it justice. You could easily do 100 and still feel it is a bit lacking.

I voted Dookie, though I like Colour and the Shape a lot more.  Dookie was a defining album for the 90s and you couldn't watch MTV for an hour without seeing Longview or Basket Case playing for the longest time.  It may not stand the test of time as a musically great album (obviously it isn't), but it ushered a new type of alternative music that was lighter than Nirvana or PJ.  Without Dookie, we may never have gotten The Offspring, blink-182, and a lot of one hit wonders like My Own Worst Enemy .  None of it is the greatest music out there, but the music was fun and it was a nice distraction from the heaviness of much of the grunge/alternative era.

even 20 albums is hard on the eyes in an elimination thread...its a big list for the brain to process
