I kept this round open a bit longer figuring a few GNR fans might want to push CD to the finish line, but these eliminations seem to have a niche market and once it reached the average vote tally this morning, decided to just declare the victor now and move on to the next one.
I highly recommend this album to anyone who hasn't heard it.
Re: And the winner is......
I had a feeling this was going to win & probably was my choice as far back as the nominations.
Same here. While I consider Kala to be the best of the initial nominations, once it started I knew this album was pretty much a lock. In almost every round it had zero votes against it. Also, I can pretty much guarantee had CD went up against anything else in the final round, CD would have won(easily). Really shows how strong this album is.
Re: And the winner is......
I wasn't paying attention to this thread, but CD came in second? Really? Even at a GnR site, I'm shocked by this. I can think of a few albums that came out last year that were better than CD, and that's just looking at the year CD came out. CD wouldn't even make the list to be considered at a non-GnR site. I'm disappointed in us...we're more musically intelligent than that.
Re: And the winner is......
But then there are those of us who really do like CD though.
You do know it's "Slashahaulic" you're talking to...? *Yikes*

Really liking it is fine. A few people might legitimately think it's the 2nd best (or best even) album of the decade so far. I am 100% behind anyone liking the album. I just didn't expect there to be enough people that liked it that much to have it make it that far even at a GnR site.
CD wouldn't even get nominated at an impartial site. I just think overall we're a smarter site than to rank CD #2. Maybe I'm wrong.
