Re: Best Album of the 00s elimination- Round 15

Every elimination here is bizarre. There are always twists and turns. Hell, Wonka destroyed cinematic masterpieces for fucks sake. ANYTHING can happen here. Thats what makes it interesting. If these were predictable I doubt there would be much participation.
Kala being eliminated in the first round was a joke, and more than likely a few trolls(or one with multiple accounts) voting for it because its widely known I'm a Maya clit swinger. I realize a few people here don't like her and some of those votes were legit, but a first round exit was out of the blue and raised red flags on the entire elimination. In hindsight, that first round deserved a do over, but it would have looked like I was just trying to save it, so I didn't bother.
The only predictable elimination here was that Music Madness, and the only predictable thing about it was the winner. It had twists and turns along the way as well.
I think part of the reason for the odd results to the eliminations are because people vote with their heart or what they know. For example, in the Michael Jackson song elimination thread. I know in a historical sense that "Thriller" is probably a top 5 MJ song at the very least. But it doesn't even make my top 10, so I'd vote it off before other songs. So these aren't really true BEST of threads. They're what we/I enjoy most. I openly admit, Chinese Democracy will probably not go down in history as one of the best albums in this decade, but I enjoy listening to it far more than the other albums on the list. And that goes for the other threads. I forget if I voted for Willy Wonka, but it's possible, as that was and still can be enjoyable to watch.
As for M.I.A. James, I'm pretty sure I didn't vote for her, although eventually I would've. But anyway, I was at a bar last week and manned up on the jukebox. I played like 12 songs or so, and the first song to come up AFTER my list was "Paper Planes", All my friends looked at me and asked if I played it. I told them know, but it was a kick ass song. And they all looked at me strangely and apparently hadn't heard it before. I might have to add that one to my list the next time I hit the jukebox, get it stuck in their heads.
Oh and by the way, my vote is for Tool.

in regards to kala james you have to consider the demo here. this is a forum about a rock band. no matter how good you may think kala is, it is not gonna go over as well as you'd like it to because of the genre difference. i don't think its anything persona against you.
