Re: Michael Jackson's This Is It Discussion
i feel like such a dick...
a couple of months ago we had a thread about the announcements of those upcoming MJ shows.. and i was confused about how these kids could possibly going apeshit over the guy....
i swear.. it's sad. only in death, sometimes.. can people cut through the current events bullshit with an artist... sit back and watch the guy without preconceived shit in their heads and realize how completely amazing and fucking brilliant they were.
there's no doubt in my mind... NONE.. that if this pedophile bullshit had never come up.. he would have been just as vital and relevant to the music scene in 2009 as he was in 1986.

Been checking out videos on YouTube. He was a fucking amazing dancer. I mean I knew it when I was a kid but now that I'm older I realize it even more. Total show-stopper in every way possible as an entertainer. Kickass voice, great lyrics, great dance beats, and Godlike dancing ability.

When I was 7 and 8 I was throwing erasers and shit at little girls. At 10 I was "playing doctor" with various girls who lived at my apartment complex.
You outgrow that "eww gross" phase awfully damn quick. To insinuate a grown man is in that phase is a giant leap I'm not willing to take.
By the way, anyone who looks at pornography of any kind is not asexual.
Child abuse or no child abuse, to say he was eccentric would be the understatement of the century. You could write volumes of books on this guy and not even include any of that.
Also, he had 50 sold out shows booked for his upcoming tour. That in a nutshell shows the impact he still had on people. No one else on this earth could sell out shows like that.
I agree, I really doubt he was stuck in any 'eww gross' stage. However, there are personality disorders where the person prefers masturbation over sexual intimacy with any other humans. For Michael, it could have been he feared intimacy with adults.
It's a very tragic story. RIP.

She came out of her shell during Rhythm Nation. Lyrically was out of her shell with Control but she hadn't refined her image yet.
She's the only Jackson that could come close to Michael's level.
Has Latoya been spotted since MJ's death? If not, maybe the rumor was true after all....
I read somewhere that Latoya had some scenes in the upcoming Bruno movie but the scenes were removed last minute due to Michael's death and will not be released on any bonus DVD footage or anything. Strangely enough the Bruno red carpet movie premier covered Michael's star on the walk of fame the day he died.

Wow......
I am going to say now what I have never said before because I want the truth out there for once.
Our relationship was not "a sham" as is being reported in the press. It was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a "Normal life" found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much.
Man, that really makes me sad.

Don't feel so bad Tyler, one thing about Mike is I think alot of us, almost grew up out of that stage with him, even though he was still relevant ot other youths. I'm surprised that some people voted Dangerous as their fave, but when it came out, I was 18 or 19, and while I thought the vid & song were good, I felt "Michael Jackson? HA!", not realizing to other kids in their youth thru early teens, still felt he was cool. Even Bad I was kinda growing out of him. But people older than me probably think Off The Wall was his greatest, and Thriller was a close second;. He truly crossed generations. People 20-50 all probably had an album of his.
As for how brilliant he was, I remember seeing a Behind the Music type documentary on him or the Thriller album or video. They said the video was choreographed for weeks, grueling practices, NYC's best dancers etc in that triangle line dance.. They said Michael walking in one day, banged out his performance on the first try, and was right in step with them the whole time. He truly was a heck of an entertainer too, when you watch his live stuff. It was never just about the song, even the stuff with Slash onstage, it wasn't about MJ, or Slash, or the song. It was the whole routine that was the show. In fact, I think he funded the Thriller video larger himself, or myb it was Beat It. Probably whichever was first, but the label didn't think music video were a worthwhile promotional tool. Needless to say, his videos were not only huge, but 'Getcher popcorn ready events". They didn't just air one day, MTV would announce when they would premiere, like a new season of Lost or something.
Re: Michael Jackson's This Is It Discussion
At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, "I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did."
Has Latoya been spotted since MJ's death? If not, maybe the rumor was true after all....
His death is going to be just like Elvis'. The conspiracy theories are going to be great. I can imagine it now...

I agree. When you look back on his career, the child abuse stuff is what derailed his train. Dangerous was huge in 91, couple years later that stuff starts to surface, and then he became the freak show who released mediocre material once in a blue moon(go check History disc 2 for a great example).
His cover of Come Together is atrocious.
That Lisa Marie statement was probably written by an assistant. She may have had some strange connection with him due to his similarities with her father, but lets be real here....... those two never had a real relationship, and no amount of revisionist history is going to change that fact.

Things that make you go hmmmmm.....

I was sorta joking with the Latoya thing. For years some people have speculated they were the same person, and there's a list of pros and cons on that issue. If we don't see Latoya who supposedly loves media attention, well that would be a tad on the strange side.
I don't think we're gonna see 'MJ is alive' stories like we did with Elvis. MJ wanted a comeback more than anything. He still had fantasies of topping Thriller someday.
He's deader than a Brontosaurus. He had no reason to fake his death.
Re: Michael Jackson's This Is It Discussion
He had no reason to fake his death.
I disagree, the conspiracies will write themselves.
-He faked his death to get away from the media
-He fakes his death to get away from his debt
-He faked his death to get away from the child molestation accusations
-He faked his death so that he could see how the media / world would react to him dying.
-He faked his death so that he could concentrate on his alter ego La Toya
Whenever anyone sees La Toya in public guess what thats going to be...Yep a Michael Jackson sighting.
