Re: Best albums of the 00s- Nominations

Anyone opposed to VR being in this? It has GNR members, but I don't think its guaranteed continual advancement through the elimination like CD would have been. I'm actually surprised its making it, and it'll probably get tossed in one of the early rounds.

This will start in the next couple days, so if anyone still wants to post their nominations, do it soon.

If we're gonna exclude Chinese Democracy, and I agree that's probably a good idea, a) because it should be #1 on THIS board and b) it'd be embarassing if it wasn't #1 on THIS board.  So I'd rather not find out.  But anyway, I remember 1 more album I bought from the 90's that could take its place.

TBH I think we should keep it, there's a lot of albums on my list I would rate higher than CD and there are other albums on other nomination lists I'd vote higher than CD. I'd like it to be kept in because I'm interested where it would place. If it gets No.1 I'll be surprised to be honest. A lot of people on here have had major criticisms about the album and I see those criticisms losing it votes.

That's a good point.  While everyone here is intelligent and seems to be fair, I would hate for it to just win because its GNR. Also take into consideration we have lurkers who don't post. So people not even participating in the nominations will be able to influence each round.

*no offense to our lurkers. Just making a point.*

We're gonna have some albums tied at two votes each, so we may need to throw CD into it to avoid doing lame tie breaker rounds before it starts just to hand out the last couple slots.

I think if it's not included we'll be left with a lot of What If's. I think something like this could really test the popularity of the album among the fanbase and I'd really hope any lurkers reading this be as objective as possible when voting and not just give it votes because it's GN'R. Even if it does come in first place I would say the runner-up should be considered the real winner.

i don't see why it should be DQ'd....
first of all... it's popped on a couple of lists but i think the regulars on here have always been objective when dealing with this sorta thing as opposed to other boards i've been on...
while all of us are gnr fans... not all of us think the sun rises and sets in axl's ass...
or slash's.. for that matter... my opinion on CD is well documented around these parts.. i could think of at least 10 more records to put on my list ahead of the final, released version of CD...

Honestly I don't want it to be included because I don't think it'll win, and that's a shame in my mind (on a GNR site).  But whatever, I'll be voting for it for sure.
