Robin will likely never get the chance to shine in GnR, but that is is own fault as much as it's anybody else's.  He made the brutal first impression, he left before CD was released, and he ignored the fans.

Kind of got what he wasking for.

Zero communication with fans besides a wacky website.

Absolutely no interviews done.

A few Q&A's at his website which is now gone anyway.

Left before touring with CD.

Bad fan reception, "you're not Slash".

Robin may be a great, friendly guy who loves his fans, I wouldn't know his heart. However, he ain't showing much of it and he pays the price for it.

In defense of Robin, he was that 'first new girlfriend' after the split with the ex.

Everyone is gonna hate them out of spite. But the second new girlfriend after them, the water is going to be alot warmer, because people USED that first one to get adjusted to the idea, and now have accepted it.

Although I do think Robin could've won them over if he had been more talented than he is. But mediocrity doomed him.

A fantastic summary of Robin's relationship with the fans. I'll give him some credit for sticking with GN'R for all those years but when it comes down to it. He's not the MVP on this record, his interpretation of the old material was horrific and his fan interaction was more minimal than Axl.

that's axl's fault. axl dropped the ball on robin. axl failed to keep robin in the band upon the album's release. axl ignored the fans. axl is to blame for this nightmare

Well, then using your logic, Axl is responsible for the same thing for Slash and Robin never would have been in the band in the first place.

He's still communicated with the fans more than Robin ever has.

Axl did a chat. Even if it was damage control, it was still more than Robin.

Axl doing the Eddie Trunk interview in 2006, was still more than Robin.

From 1997-2008, I want you to list everything Robin did to communicate with the GNR fans.

Lame poems on his site don't count.

Ron did more for the fans in his first month as a member than Robin did in 11 years. Hell, he joined our site like 2 weeks after joining the band and he knew there was a heavy Bucket fan presence. Finck wont even join his own little fan sites filled with nothing but nutswingers where his participation would have done wonders for those communities, causing them to die a quick death.

Hell, back in 2004-05 when all the members were actually giving interviews on various sites, guess who the only person was who kept his trap shut?
