dammit!! That was a free concert and was only like a 20 minute drive from my house. I go past the riverfront (where the concert was held) when I go to school every week. My and my gf were thinking about going out there tonight because it was free and all but we decided against b/c of the weather and we were already downtown and in the city for a wings game and school all last week.

Slash needs to get Zakk in the studio and record this so we can hear Slash's guitar better.  This shit is fucking sick.

The 2009 Quart Festival in Norway will be June 30th - July 4th. SLASH & Friends will headline the first night with Ozzy Osbourne and newly announced guests Ron Wood (Rolling Stones) and Led Zep drummer Jason Bonham. This sounds like an awesome summer evening!

SLASH Issues Update On Solo Album - Apr. 14, 2009

VELVET REVOLVER and ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash has posted an update on the recording process for his new solo album, which he is tracking with former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese and ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney. Slash writes on his MySpace page, "We've nailed four killer tracks with four amazing vocals so far and nailing another one Tuesday [April 14], so things are going extremely well. Everybody who has contributed vocals so far have been flawless and the rhythm section, Josh and Chris, are priceless. Eric Valentine is a genius producer, not to mention his team is great. All in all this last couple of weeks have been a hell a lot of fun and we're just getting started. It's definitely going to be a kick-ass record, if I do say so myself."

Slash's wife Perla Hudson said in a video interview at Rockerrazzi.com that both Ozzy Osbourne and Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson) of the BLACK EYED PEAS will make guest appearances on her husband's upcoming solo album.

Slash left GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'90s, forming SLASH'S SNAKEPIT before later assembling VELVET REVOLVER with several other ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland.

VELVET REVOLVER is currently searching for a replacement for Weiland, who was dismissed in April 2008.

We were disappointed to hear that SLASH's solo album won't be out till after the first of the year, so we asked him why that was. There are two more tracks to go, and they're almost done with vocals with a couple of odds and ends. He said he hopes to have a release date soon, but it will definitely be early next year. The recording process is almost done, but the legal logistics with so many artists takes time to iron out. Also, he doesn't want to have his album come out at the same time as any of the artists guesting on the album. Interestingly, SLASH is going to post what gear was used on what songs although most are just one guitar and two amps - this will be posted on Myspace. The record is being recorded analog, so it will be released on vinyl as well as CD. Izzy Stradlin is making a rhythm guitar appearance on the album, and Steven Adler will appear on drums.

Enough with taking swipes already...

And the recording will probably be delayed due to his mothers unfortunate passing.

he was in the studio yesterday I believe.  All he does is work because bad things happen when he doesn't.

And there's nothing wrong with taking a swipe at Axl's promotion.  It's well deserved and it's only just begun.

I agree with Buzzsaw on that point. When a high profile artist fails to do things other high profile artists do, you can expect people(here and everywhere) to "take swipes".

People(including other artists) have been doing this for years, but now that Slash is center stage, it sticks out more for obvious reasons.
