Re: What are ticket prices like everywhere?
Here in Aust I didn't think it was too bad in general...as scalping is illegal...so it's only the ticket companies and their pre-sale trickster partners to deal with. in general its ok...but check out this....the major ticket company just sent me a link to Britney Speakrs...tickets...now i'm not going to go to britney...but check out these prices....I was blown away....
"The Love Seat couches encircle the stage in the round.
The Stools are behind the Love Seats.
VIP General Admission (GA) Standing is general admissions standing areas behind the love seats at each end within a barrier.
Diamond General Admission (GA) is standing behind the VIP General Admission (GA).
Diamond Reserved and Gold Reserved makes up the standard grandstand tiered seating.
Prices - Love Seats - $1750
Stools - $625
VIPGA + preshow party - $750
Vip Gen Add - $375"
That's some pretty insane pricing IMHO....
Re: What are ticket prices like everywhere?
I'd pay that much to see GN'R and GN'R alone.
The most expensive tickets here are around 1160 dollars.

Are you people talking pesos or something?? Is there a big currency difference? I can see idiots paying out the ass for Britney or Hannah Montana for their daughters, or an intimate show (small Vegas lounge). But a Grand?? I'm not sure the Stones or Bruce get that?!
I wouldn't pay $1750 for GN'R in 1987.
I'd pay about up to $300/$350 for great seats of a reunited GnR lineup. That'd be about my max. and that's using a scalper, in case I couldn't get them.

I'm talking US dollars.
The Britney Spears price is for the most expensive VIP package while the most expensive "ordinary" ticket is around 580 bucks.
Is that the usual prices for concerts in Sweden? No, but usually it isn't exactly cheap either.
The last concert I went to (The Eagles) was 105 dollars.
And I paid a lot of money to see Guns N' Roses in 2006 and I'll do it again if they give me the chance.
Re: What are ticket prices like everywhere?
Oddly enough this whole kindof conversation is what rejuvinated my interest in GnR. Back in 2001 two friends were going to see Rush, and said they paid "alot of money" for good seats. I asked how much, they said "Alot". Then admitted they went thru a scalping agency etc, and paid something like $200 or $270.
I was floored. I would never pay something like that. But they they said they were getting older, and Rush was too, probably they last 'good tour' for them they'd like to see, before they become a novelty act. And wanted to go, get great seats, and have a good time together. It started to make sense, in a way. But I though Kurt's dead, so I couldn't see Nirvana though I would have loved to. Not that huge a PJ fan, Soundgarden I like, but not $200. RHCP aren't either, to me. etc etc etc Hmmmmmmmm. Then it was like hours or days later it hit me, and I said to him "Guns N Roses". He kinda laughed. I was aware he was trying to redo the band, but felt I'd pay that, I think it was to see them reunited though. Now, I'm pretty certain I would. Fuck it, you can't take it with you.
