horror has traditionally never fared as well against the other genres..ultimately the dramas more often then not win out....i dunno how many carry overs we have from the htgth survivors but we saw pretty much the same trend back then as well

My 2 nominations were PG's, one went out straight away, and I think my other will be whitewashed when it comes up hmm

Both of my nominations went in the first round. Not surprised Die Hard went especially against Apocalypse Now. Bit dissappointed to see SPR go so early though. As for this nomination, I haven't seen TCM so I can't/won't vote, although I have to say Wonka wouldn't win against any of the films that I have seen that are in this comp. As James said it's great as a kid but I'd have to be desparately bored to sit through it now.

In "GnREvolution Movie Madness" fire represents death, when the Movie's credits roll, the movie goes up in flames, when the names are read, the decision is final and they must leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll go tally the votes.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, bring me your torch.

The Tribe has spoken

The film which you are about to see is an account of the tragedy which befell a group of five youths, in particular Sally Hardesty and her invalid brother, Franklin. It is all the more tragic in that they were young. But, had they lived very, very long lives, they could not have expected nor would they have wished to see as much of the mad and macabre as they were to see that day. For them an idyllic summer afternoon drive became a nightmare. The events of that day were to lead to the discovery of one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
