U know, I wonder if Axl had contacted Dr Pepper and tried to work a campaign what would've happened?

They probably would've done Axl commercials etc but he wasn't into it.
Which I am not unhappy about

I am really glad Axl doesn't do shit like that.

well, i can understand the suing cause where they attached themselves to GNR, it makes it seem like GNR ripped the people off with the free soda

plus, it seemed like they were making fun of GNR and this is Axl's way to kick their ass and make them look stupid.

There would have been nothing wrong with Axl doing something like this. GNR fans would have been on it like flies on shit. Its only in hindsight knowing he didn't do anything that people start the 'I'm glad he's not a media whore prostituting himself for fortune and fame" bullshit.

If he ever decides to leave the house one of these days, there's gonna be a lot of people eating a lot of crow.

Dr pepper should have been sued for what they did.

They attached themselves to a high-value brand like GNR without any agreement or contracts or payments - and traded off GNR's image and publicity (the wait for an album).

Totally unaccepetable in a business sence. If they'd screwed up the offer or whatever it associates them with GNR with no control for the band.

Now i can see the logic that GNR could have then worked with them and developed something cool out of it for the free promo etc, but i can see from a brand ownership perspecitve it's not cool of Dr Pepper to do what they did.

I agree. When Axl was on MTV giving away his old house or whatever that was back in the day I didn't feel he was a whore. It was just cool to see him and gnr stuff.

I support axl doing what he needs to do to be happy. But I question how healthy it is....while he was never as media friendly as guys like Slash people seem to forget that once upon a time, Axl used to be out places, and talk to people and appear on TV and this kinda thing that everyone now says is whoring.

It's axl's life. I can just say from my own perspective, when the world's fucked it's tempting to lock yourself away, but the times i've done that it can get pretty lonely and make you feel worse in the longer term.
