Yeah, 3 day statistics for Green Day. That album is flying off the shelves. I might download it and have a listen. Was never a Green Day fan.
For the record, Chinese Democracy is the only well known album released since November thats out of the top 200.
Yeah I bought Dookie back in their heyday, but wasn't really a fan after that. I've liked some of their songs since then but not enough to buy any of their albums. It doesn't appear they're missing my business too much. I like their new single, it's catchy. I usually skip through the musical guests on SNL because they usually suck, but I watched them perform "Enemy". I only made it through a little of their second song though before I had to fast forward.

It appears the Best Buy deal is running longer than the 6 month rumor that was out there, since nothing has been said on the subject leading up to the coming week (the 6 month mark). I wonder how long Best Buy will keep it at regular price. Maybe a price reduction would help? They've got to be swimming in copies of CD right now. They may ban GNR's next album,,,,,,,, if there is a next album.
The six month thing came from Fortus, who knows nothing. More than likely, the CD deal was for a year.
They should have sold this album for 5 bucks in its 3rd week of release. They would have unloaded a nice sized chunk of their inventory. They're gonna have a rough time unloading those now, even with a price cut.
The album is a beer coaster now, even for most people who bought it. No one is gonna pay 10-15 bucks for a beer coaster.
Well if it's for a year, then there's still plenty of time for that "Better" video they promised Best Buy. And I was beginning to worry, silly me. 
All this time I was waiting for the 6 month mark to start up the massive monumental campaign. You're telling me I have to wait ANOTHER 6 months? Tis the life of a GNR fan.

I don't know how long its for. Since it isn't six months, I think a year sounds reasonable. Would be hard to imagine a contract signed for something like 8 or 9 months.
Whether its one day or 10 years, there will never be a monumental campaign. They missed that boat and then the boat sunk. Only point in rereleasing it at this point is if he truly wasn't happy with the booklet, album cover, and track list and doesn't want the album's legacy to only ride on its initial release. If he doesn't give a shit, there wont be a rerelease.

All CD's release in November was, was breaking even. Axl swinging by on a Friday afternoon at 4, and dropping it off at the front desk. Not literally, but you get the idea.
Azoff was then brought to find a way to clear that debt. Like I made the analogy before, Axl got shelled in the first 6 innings, letting the score go to 13-0 (in millions), and Azoff was brought in to mop up, and salvage the remaining innings, to get GN'R to the end of the game.
I wouldn't be shocked at all, if Axl looked at this as a fresh start, and ridding himself the festering zit that has become CD. He knows it's a joke now. It's a punchline. There's no way anyone is gonna take it serious. Right now, he's probably sitting back, and thinking about what he wants to do next in his life. He might not be done with music... he might just be done with Guns N' Roses. Who knows.

I think it will be rereleased at the same time in November again, along with a new album, to make the most out of the Christmas shopping season once more.
I cant believe its a week until June and they still havnt done jackshit since it was released. They are so fucking lame

You MAY be right. But then again the same thing was said 1000 times over about Chinese Democracy. I believe you even said it would never come out. So you never know. Although I tend to agree that the odds are against it at this point.

Sooner or later CD was likely to come out. I said it wouldn't surprise me if it never came out and that I didn't think it would, but odds were that sooner or later it would. You can't expect a new album of new material to come out anytime soon. There will be leaks long before that hapened.

Even if a live album were to come out at this point, it'd be a total laugh. Who wants a live album of a one-off band here and there, that doesn't even actively tour? This isn't KISS putting out Alive when they were desperate to show their live energy, or Axl putting out Live Era, which was basically his 'Greatest Hits' send off to the old era.
Live albums make far too much sense, for GN'R. The time for live albums, would've been to put out that Rio III show in 2001, with touched up vocals. Or maybe even a select show from 2002, with a studio spit-shine, to try and get audiences into the band, specifically with some Bucket solos. No.
In 2006-07, they should've went Live Nation. They should've been either cutting shows and offering for purchase right after the show, or offering for download the night after. No. Much smaller bands than Guns do it, or did it.
A live album at this point wouldn't make any sense. Neither would an EP. The only sense that would be made would be walking away from CD, and putting out an all-new album by the end of the year, and moving on with THAT material, but there's probably a better chance of Jesus to return, than a new album anytime soon, so... we're screwed.
