Re: Chk Chk Boom - lol
What's even funnier is that there is now a dance remix of the girl:
CLARE Werbeloff, the so-called “Chk-Chk Boom” woman who became an internet sensation after witnessing a shooting in Sydney’s King Cross red-light district, has inspired a YouTube dance remix.
Werbeloff spawned a new Internet meme this week after her politically incorrect quotes on a Channel Nine TV news interview became the hottest video on the Internet.
"There were these two wogs fighting,” said the 19-year-old in the interview.
“The fatter wog said to the skinnier wog: 'Oi bro, you slept with my cousin'. And the other one said: 'Nah man, I didn't for shit, eh' and the other one goes: 'I will call on my fully sick boys, eh'. And then pulled out a gun and went chk-chk boom!"
The news video was viewed more than 100,000 times this week and was still doing 3000 views per hour this evening on Nine’s ninemsn website.
Chk-Chk Boom fans can already snap up t-shirts from $8.50, coffee mugs from $11.99 and ceramic beer steins from $13.99.
Now comes “Chk-Chk Boom: The Clare Werbeloff Club Mix”, released tonight on YouTube.
Such has been the reaction to the clip that Werbeloff has now hired PR agent Adam Abrams.

She's smoking hot!!
Funny to try to interpret what she's saying. Also funny so much press is given to a murder. (Person on the street interviews etc) Here it's just "And there was a shooting in this section of town today, no word on a suspect. And in the other side of town two men were found dead in a home, no word on possible motive. Gary's here with sports... "
Re: Chk Chk Boom - lol
Yeah true, although here in Oz (probably because of our much stricter gun laws compared to other countries - e.g. US) shootings still get a fair bit of coverage.
That said I believe the media played the interview simply because of the politically incorrect terminology used by the girl. Then once it was out there it got a life of it's own.
Typically in Australia "Wog" was/is a derogatory term for Italians/Greeks/Turks etc. It certainly was used mainly against that demographic 20 -30 years ago and still today. Although the Greeks and Italians have to a certain extent embraced the term and use it themselves (I suppose like African Americans calling each other Nigger, although if a white guy uses the term to them it can conjure up racist connotations, kinda similar situation).
In the case of this shooting the offenders were actually Lebanese (there is a huge Lebanese gang culture in Sydney). I believe calling Lebanese Wogs is not really the correct derogatory term - it should be Arabs. Although I think the Lebs have actually started referring to themselves as Wog's mainly because they don't like being called Arabs.
Anyhow, not saying I agree with any of it, just trying to provide some background for non Aussies.

It's crazy! I logged off, watched it a couple more times & logged back on to ask just that!
I was going to say it's funny how she says not only that but "fatter" and "skinnier". It'd be like someone in US saying "These two white trash were fighting, and the fatter white trash said the the skinnier white trash...."
Funny, I guess cause she's pretty it made it onto the air.
Re: Chk Chk Boom - lol
come to think of it, I re-read your description, I supose it'd be like saying "Dago's" or "Wop's"
Yep exactly.
The whole naming reference for different nationalities is interesting. A lot of time Aussies are referred to as "skips" by different ethnic groups. Skip's (short for Skippy - as in the kangaroo). Personally I think it's hilarious.
Same with POM's for British (which should strictly be spelt POHM's - Prisoner of Her Majesty - which is what half the population was really when they were shipped down here over 2 hundred years ago.
Some names for Americans are "Yanks" or "Sepo's". Sepo's being rhyming slang for Septic Tank / Yank.
It's interesting how some terms like Aussies, Kiwis, Yanks, POM's etc doesn't seem to be offensive whilst others are??? I suppose it's often due to historical uses of some terms which usually originated as derogatory remarks.

Re: Chk Chk Boom - lol
Yeah..there is a large part of the greek population in melbourne that refer to each other as wogs just as a slang name for their community without it having any negative meanings.
It's like how homosexuals have tended to embrace words like "gay" or "queer" that were once used as insults.
There was an aussie tv show called "Wogs Out of Work" run by an ethnic comedian, lampooning the culture a little.
I think it's worth mentioning too that to an extent there are certain characistics other than race that make something "woggy" to locals...many of these things are stereotypically from that community of course - but certain ways of dressing, certain cars and styles etc is considered part of that look. You can be greek without being a WOG imo.
It's kinda how not every African American man in the usa is going to look like gandsta rap or whatever. But some of them do follow that image.
So i suspect the girl was meaning to describe them as well perhaps, it's like saying "the smaller pimp" or something when describing snoop dog's look.
Still uncool i know...but just explaining how it works a little around here.
Anyway...welcome to australia...fucking hot girls...until they say something
