Sorta off subject, but has anybody had that "Pepsi Throwback"?
I can't tell from the commercial if it's just a different can or some different flavor.
The main ingredient is different. Most sodas use High Fructose Corn syrup. This Pepsi Throwback (and Mountain Dew) uses Cane Sugar (and Beet Sugar) which is apparently supposed to be better tasting than the corn syrup normally used.
I have not tried either throwback product and can't offer an opinion. But if anyone drinks this I would like to know how it compares.

Haven't seen "Throwback" in stores yet in my area, but "Pepsi Natural" is delicious. Its old school pepsi without that corn syrup shit(which should be illegal) and sparkling water.
I also like how they didn't dumb it down and market it to morons. Its sold in 4 pack bottles for 4 dollars, at least at Safeway. The moment they dumb it down like their other products is the moment I stop drinking it, regardless of how good it tastes.

i was in a drugstore last week and cought a 12 pack of dew in the corner of my eye with the original mountain dew logo.. you know the old old school logo..?
it was the throwback shit...."made with natural sugar"... i was sooo sold.
great shit... tastes like dew did when i was a toddler.... i hope this starts a trend... fuck high fructose corn syrup....

I don't think corn syrup will ever go away completely because food standards are so low and everyone loves those low standards. It never should have been allowed in the first place. All corn syrup did was cause food and drinks to taste like shit and it also caused an epidemic of diabetes.
I hope it starts a trend as well. Celebrities should Twitter "shuga rulz, sirrep sux" and maybe a trend will develop.

I dont know if its related but they use sugar beet for making cheap brands of vodka because its, well, cheaper.
Other main types of vodka are produced from wheat, potatoe or grapes.
I remember reading that sugar beet suffered an image problem in the vodka industry, because it wasnt considered a fancy enough source, despite being a very good raw material. The most expensive vodka I've seen came from grapes I think.

I will try this Pepsi throwback though I am a diet soda drinker.
I don't get why they changed the packaging. Is changing the logo to some goofy smileys really going to get more people to buy it?
