Re: KFC gambling on chicken that is grilled, not fried
I just tried the grilled chicken. For me it was just okay. It is really soft and moist, but it wasn't seasoned well. I thought it was a bit bland. The left the thigh on the grill too long because the top was hard and unedible. I'm a small person with a small appetite, but I thought the chicken seemed kind of small.
I don't think I'll be going back to KFC in the future. It's alright if you want a quick meal, but I prefer to grill up my own chicken.

This is pretty much my reaction as well. The chicken was nice and juicy but it was BLAND with zero flavor. The sample I tried was kind of small too. I give them some props for trying to infuse their menu with a new product, but it just doesn't work for me. However, if I had to pick between this or McDonalds I'd choose this one.

Umm, i've never had grilled chicken that wasn't BLAND.
Grilled Chicken has always just kind of been there. Fried will always be king. I think this stuff works for 'fast' and 'diet'. Nothing more, and I think that's what they're going for.
The original receipe will always be unmatched... unless you're James. I think Jimmy suffers from that "it tasted better when I was a kid" thing. Well doesn't everything. As a kid I thought smothering a hamburger in ketchup was delicious... now the thought makes me barf.

I've heard that my whole life. I've seasoned grilled chicken to death, and on grilled chicken breasts... beautiful.
On a grilled chicken, or grilled chicken pieces... it's just never worked out. It's kind of mild to me. All of it, even the supposedly 'great' stuff.
Maybe I just haven't found great grilled chicken, I dunno.

I was gonna try this, I guess I'll skip it.
I find marinating it makes it all the better when trying to season up grilled chicken.
