Re: Slash to be on American Idol next week

OK. So why would they settle for Slash if they could have anybody?
Probably because the last time Brian May came on, he has Constatine Marwowoolflflf or whatever the fuck his name was, telling him he wanted to do Bohemian Rhapsody better, and told Brian to play it different.
I kid you the fuck not.

^ Hilarious.
Needed someone to perform "Street Of Dreams" on it.

From "MYGNR", last year.

Overmyer revealed that she could choose any song she wanted to sing on the show that fit the theme. Whether it "cleared" or the artist allowed "Idol" to use the song was a different story. Overmyer said she wanted to sing a Guns N' Roses song for the '80s theme but the show was not allowed access to any song sung by Axl Rose, who most consider the biggest rock star to come out of Greater Lafayette.
Re: Slash to be on American Idol next week
Atari brings up a good point, from that Amanda Overmyer that was shut down on GN'R, and supposedly because of Axl. Apparently he's the one that doesn't want his songs on Idol, and I don't blame him. I wouldn't want my songs on there being butchered either.
So Slash definitely won't be playing any GN'R material, unless Idol & Slash are ready and willing to be sued.
I wouldn't mind hearing Adam Lambert do "Tie Your Mother Down" with Slash on guitar.
Re: Slash to be on American Idol next week
American Idol isn't all that bad. I don't watch it but I did see last week's (with Jamie Foxx) and all of them can actually sing which is cool. 3 or 4 stars have come out of that show, including an Oscar winner.
Why be pissed at Slash for being on AI, when he played on Daughtry's record? Daughtry only had a solo record because of AI.
What have Taylor Hicks, Clay Aiken, Fantasia Barino, or Ruben Studdard done lately?
Sure the show has yielded some stars. So has MTV's The Real World. That doesn't make it right.
