Saikin have you changed your opinion on SLTS in the past couple years? I really don't see how people can't find that as a great anthemic rock song. Yeah, We Die Young is pretty good but it (and all of Facelift) wasn't different enough to change things. SLTS was the right kind of accessible and different from the norm of the time.
And I don't get the Epic love either, it's an average song by FNM standards.
I'm not a Nirvana fan but I love SLTS, and I'm a huge FNM fan and I don't like Epic. I don't get what's going on.

I think as far as Nirvana songs goes SLTS is one of the weaker ones (at least single wise), but the same goes for Epic as well.
I just prefer FNM and the sound of Epic over SLTS.
I guess you could say my opinion on FNM has changed in the past couple of years.
