Anyway, got this from HTGTH:

According to Matt Sorum regarding 2009...

Velvet Revolver is going to be back in the studio, getting back to work, hopefully we are going to find a singer so we can get back on the road...next summer is the plan.

I thought that Slash would be pushing his "Slash and Friends" album in Summer, not touring with VR. Maybe he plans to do both?

Stick a fork in it. Slash is doing his solo record and Duff is committed to Loaded. VR clearly isn't a priority at this point. They are just trying to keep interest alive and string along the hardcores another year until they figure out what to do.

Re: Velvet Revolver Still Mulling New Frontman

Yeah seems like VR is over to me,I kind of hope I'm wrong but it doesn't look good at all,if they were really looking for a singer they would have already found one. 21

I don't think it's over. But I do think it's going to take time. Slash works fast...his solo album will be complete soon and then he's going to want to do something. No better way to promote it than have VR functioning again too. Matt is most keen cos VR is his primary thing, but I can't see duff choosing loaded over VR long term. Sooner or latter they'll find a new singer and get this shit up and running again.

I don't think it's over. Finding a great singer (after working with Axl Rose) is very tough. We all know how lot time it took for The Project to find Scott Weiland. Now they're in the same situation, with another bad singer behaviour experience. I still have the thought they're waiting for Lenny, but maybe they're really looking for someone, just can't find him. As Slash wrote in his book about the (first) singer search, when they were trying to find someone new and unknown, yet great guy. A friend of him told them it was impossible: there are very few guys in the whole business who'd be on their level as a musician and professional, so they can only find someone 'famous'.

I think it was a joke. but Linda @ snakepit.org didn't get it... or it's her April's Fool joke I didn't get. Anyway...

Led Zep's nonsinging members are reuniting for a tour which will feature new vocalist (former Creed) Scott Stapp. Hearing the announcement, SLASH issued a statement on behalf of VR saying Stapp's signing came at the expense of VR where he had been expected to sign. SLASH said the new frontrunner for VR is Rick Astley. Astley is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He has released or appeared on recordings that have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. He is best known for his 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up". His career has hit a high level with internet promotion. He was voted by internet users as the Best Act Ever at the 2008 MTV Music Video Awards for his "Never Gonna Give You Up" internet video.
