Rye Rye's first single Bang has just been released from her first album titled 'Go! Pop! Bang!' which will be released May 5th.

Its actually an interesting choice for a first single. I assume it was picked for its title alone because it goes with the album title. Its not blowing me away at the moment, but neither did M.I.A.'s first single from Kala(Boyz), and we all know how that turned out. 
Still have high hopes for this album, and will definitely be buying it the moment its released. U2 and her album were my most anticipated records this year. The U2 album kicked my ass, and the strength of Lily Allen's new album came out of left field, so this will be icing on an already sweet cake in 2009.

This is very catchy indeed, James. While it's not typical of my music tastes, I have to admit I tend to like a bit of everything out there. I wasn't too familiar with M.I.A.'s music before you started exposing us to it (and that was before "Paper Planes"). Rye Rye's got the chops, and I hope to be hearing more from her. Keep it coming. It doesn't go unappreciated.

this song is on the Fast and Furious soundtrack, and i think i heard it when i saw the movie friday.
Interesting. I didn't even know it was on the soundtrack. I guess I wasn't paying attention. 
Haven't watched that movie yet.
You would imagine that would be some great promo for her getting it in the movie and on the soundtrack!
Looks to me like this was sorta snuck in there at the last minute. I have no idea the context in which the song is used, but I remember during the new Friday the 13th film, the Santogold track 'Shove It' comes out of left field during a sex scene. Wasn't really any promotion surrounding it either.

Yeah I'm starting to warm up a bit to it myself. Had it blaring in the car last night on the way home. I'm not even sure if this is a proper single as there's just no way this is gonna get a ton of radio play with the continual use of the word 'fuck'. Rye Rye probably unloaded this mainly for the club scene and as a way to let her fans know she's finally arrived with a proper album. Before this, she was mainly known for 'Shake it to the Ground', a few other tracks, and of course her connection to M.I.A.
Looks like the album release has had a slight delay. Hopefully she launches this thing with a killer single.
Edit: Fuck it, I'm gonna post the link in the open. I uploaded this for someone a few days ago. I know some people don't use myspace, and no one can be expected to "blind buy" something on Itunes or Amazon. If you download it and do like the track, hopefully you'll support her by buying the song on one of those formats.

It is catchy. You wouldn't see me bumping to it in my car though. I imagine it would fit in good with Fast and Furious as well. She's got the skills but it's hard for a female to break it into rap. It's possible though and she's young still.
