Re: The PINK FLOYD Thread
AtariLegend wrote:"The Final Cut" is an amazing album as well, it was half-recorded during "The Wall", but it's terrible album if you're feeling down.
"Animals" too deserves a nod, if only "Three Different Ones" didn't go on so long, it'd be Universally loved, "Dogs" gets away with it, but it's a cool track.
You're not kidding about The Final Cut. I used to put it on when I was depressed because I figured "Well, you're already sad... why not?". I found out that it would make me sad for very extended periods of time. If I listen to that album anymore, I usually hit up the tracks surrounding "Not Now John" so I can remember then album then get out before I become depressed, lol.
The solo in the song "The Final Cut" is sooooo bad ass.
Honestly depressing music actually makes me feel better when I'm sad...It's weird but idk it just seems to work for me lol

http://www.amazon.co.uk/There-Anybody-O … 162&sr=8-2
The book is amazing, it has Pink Floyd talking about the show as well as production guys and there is loadsa top quality pictures.
Someone has kindly updated the old VHS recording with the remastered audio on youtube:

The new live version really blows the studio version out the water, its incredible.

One of my favourite Floyd songs, Gunners Dream:

I figured out the concept and story of the Final Cut stoned one night, its an under appreciated masterpiece. Listening to it casually I always thought Not Now John sounded out of place, then I finally got it.
Its an album that you really have to allow yourself to get drawn into the story, its not a sociable album, its for listening to alone and in silence.
Re: The PINK FLOYD Thread
I don't have the footage but oh LORD do I wish they'd release it. I have the album they released of it though and it's nothing short of astonishing.
The sound quality is superb, the amount of times at college I kicked back in my room with a few beers and cranked that album up.
