Re: More ridiculous, Guns N' Roses or Black Sabbath?
Here's how I look at it. I would go to a Guns concert anytime during their career. I've seen Sabbath before, but there were some lineups I would skip. I'm a fan of most bands, but Guns is the better. Throw in all the albums and there is a period of stinkers during the lame Sabbath era.
Re: More ridiculous, Guns N' Roses or Black Sabbath?
except Sabbath has 19 albums, 6 live albums and 7 compilation albums
GnR has 6 albums (one of all covers), 1 live album and a compilation album
not even in the same league...hell sabbath had 8 studio albums and a compilation with the orig lineup which is more than GnR's entire catalogue

Re: More ridiculous, Guns N' Roses or Black Sabbath?
I was trying to compare the current Guns situation to the late 1980's/early 1990's Sabbath stuff.
Both pretty wacky in their own right, Iommi making proclamations similiar to those of Axl and trying to get people to buy into the revolving door as being due to other's behavior and lack of commitment.
So, I guess it's unanimous that's Guns is the joke now.
Re: More ridiculous, Guns N' Roses or Black Sabbath?
Remember tho, the band Jefferson Airplane evolved into Jefferson Starship, who in turn evolved into Starship. From what I heard at one point of their incarnation no original members were even in the band. It was just a franchise band of people added along the way.
Re: More ridiculous, Guns N' Roses or Black Sabbath?
My preferred line up was....
Grace Slick - Piano / Vocals
Paul Kantner - Rhythm Guitar / Vocals
Marty Balin - Vocals
Pete Sears - Bass / Keyboards
Craig Chaquico - Lead Guitar / Vocals
John Barbata - Electric Drums / Drums / Congas / Percussion / Vocals
David Freiberg - Bass / Organ / Vocals
I'm a Balin nutswinger so any lineup with him suits me just fine.
