I've been putting it off for awhile, but I think I'm ready to break down and get sirius satellite radio.  Who here has it?  I would mainly be getting it for the Stern show, but for those who have it, how is it?  Is it worth the purchase?  I would only be signing up for their internet stream because I would mainly be listening at my computer.

So thoughts, opinions, stories, ect are all welcome.

Depends on how much radio you listen to. If you're a radio-phile, then go for it.

Radio is pretty boring to me, satellite and terrestrial. I used to listen to a guy named Phil Hendrie that had a hilarious comedy-based show where he did voices and stuff and satirized radio itself. But his 'comedy' show ended in 2006 (he went to a standard talk-radio format).

Since then, I couldn't give a fuck. Even Stern. He's just doing that same schtick he's done for decades.

I have it on my DirectTV and sometimes listen to it at home. I'd never buy it as an individual purchase.

I don't have it myself, but I have a couple friends that do, and they love it.

I have the internet password for one of thier accounts so I can listen to Stern sometimes.  I don't know how it works for sure if that's all you sign up for, but I know all the channels that are available through his radios aren't available on the internet.

I cancelled cable and was hoping to listen to Monday Night Football games on the NFL package on the internet, but the games weren't on there.

That's because all of the national sports have went to subscription packages for all audio broadcasts. Unless you're listening to a radio broadcast on a local station, you will never hear sports on satellite radio without some sort of special package.

I bought it, and I'm fucking loving it.  Being able to listen to Stern live again is simply awesome.  On top of that, there is actually some really good channels on here.

I like:  the boneyard, classic vinyl, liquid metal (all metallica), lithium, NFL channel, and Howard 100 & 101.

Some friends of mine swear by it, but I don't have a need. I only drive 10 minutes to work, and rarely listen to the radio at home or work. Lithium is great though. As are others I'm sure.
