Re: Jimmy Chamberlin Exits The Smashing Pumpkins
Drummer Jimmy Chamberlin has left the Smashing Pumpkins!
Again!
Granted, the first time around in 1996 was a little different, you know, on account of the drug addiction and the touring keyboardist's overdose.
Anyway!
Frontman Billy Corgan announced on his website that he has plans to "continue to write and record as Smashing Pumpkins," even though the megalomaniac is the only original member left in the group!
Corgan has plans to start recording a new Pumpkins album with the with the fresh line-up in the spring.

This really is too bad. I always liked Billy Corgan and the Pumpkins in particular. I personally thought "Zeitgeist" was one of their best efforts thus far. I'm also a big fan of Jimmy's drumming. Even though my perhaps favorite Pumpkins album is the Chamberlin-less "Adore," he really made the releases he was on. This band continues to discintegrate around Corgan's ego.

Re: Jimmy Chamberlin Exits The Smashing Pumpkins
His departure makes this SP less SP than Zwan or Corgan solo. I'll miss him, but then again I've basically given up on new Pumpkins music being good. Zeitgeist had a few good songs but since then it's been all bad, and their setlists suck. I'll stick to Siamese Dream, Gish, and Pisces Iscariot.
