Yea, considering the fact that you can barely support a middle class lifestyle with recordings, even "successful" ones these days, touring is artists' only chance. The problem is ticket reseller sites that get sold large quantities of tickets from the major sites immediately, and then turn around and jack up the price.

An artist who people will pay 150 bucks to see setting prices at 150 bucks? Sad for poorer fans (people like me too, who just won't do that), but fair.

An artist who people will pay 150 bucks to see setting the price there, but then having stubbhub or some site buy up large amounts and sell them at 250 to desperate fans? Uncool in every way.

Make what you can make but I hope that ticketmaster and livenation never go to a lottery system that seems so frightening and possible.
