Shit like this makes you realize how fragile life is. I was on an intermediate slope a couple years ago and was going way too fast for my own good. I came up on this family that was going really slow and I was losing control so in order to avoid running into them, I decided to take a forward dive head first. It probably would have killed me if I landed on my neck or head. I landed on my left shoulder and broke my collar bone. Looking at this Richardson accident, I realize just how fortunate I was to not be seriously hurt in my accident. I was going 50-60 miles per hour when my accident happened.

Wow. Guess the internet rumors were true. Strange that she was ok at first, and then started feeling bad which led to this. Obviously internal injuries of some sort.

Yeah, she must have messed up a blood vessel or something. Any number of things could happen after the fact even if it's not obvious at first.

It almost sounds like she had an underlying condition and was more susceptible to something bad happening. One source said her fall on the slope was "not violent at all."
