(CNN) -- Actress Natasha Richardson was hospitalized after she fell on a ski slope at a Quebec resort, a resort spokeswoman said in a statement Tuesday.
Richardson was taken to a hospital near Station Mont Tremblant before she was transferred to Hopital du Sacre-Coeur in Montreal following her fall on Monday, according to the statement. However, she was transferred Tuesday to an undisclosed location in the United States, according to Michelle Simard, spokeswoman for Hopital du Sacre-Coeur.
Simard said she had no further details.
Richardson fell on a beginners' trail Monday during a lesson at Station Mont Tremblant, said the statement from the resort, located about 80 miles northwest of Montreal.
At the time, Richardson was accompanied by a ski instructor, who called the ski patrol, the statement said. "She did not show any visible sign of injury, but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor."
Richardson, accompanied by the instructor, returned to her hotel, but about an hour after the fall was "not feeling good," the statement said. An ambulance was called, and Richardson was taken to a local hospital before she was transferred to Hopital du Sacre-Coeur.
The statement offered no details on Richardson's condition or injuries.
Richardson, 45, has appeared in many television, film and stage roles, including the movies "Nell" and "The Parent Trap," according to her biography on the Internet Movie Database Web site. She won a Tony award in 1998 for her performance as Sally Bowles in "Cabaret," according to the biography. She is married to actor Liam Neeson and is the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave.
The Montreal Gazette reported that Richardson's two sons with Neeson were skiing with her at the time of her fall, and that Neeson flew to Montreal from a Toronto film set to be with her at the hospital.

That was my reaction too when I first read the article.
They should've just said "Liam Neeson's wife in ski accident".
LOL, I was thinking the same thing. I looked her up at IMDB and the only thing in her career that I recognize is the Parent Trap remake with Dennis Quaid and Lindsay Lohan.

Apparently that's PATRICIA Richardson.
Liam Neeson would have to be out of his mind to hook up with her.

Damn I'm old. The moment I saw the headline, I knew who she was yet had to think for a second to know exactly what she had starred in.
There's rumors crawling the net that she's actually brain dead, although nothing in this CNN article would point to that being the case.

There's rumors crawling the net that she's actually brain dead, although nothing in this CNN article would point to that being the case.

Sources close to Tony-award winning actress Natasha Richardson tell FOXNews.com that the 45-year-old actress is brain dead, and being transported back to New York City before she is to be taken off life support.
Richardson's condition deteriorated following a skiing accident on a beginner's trail at the Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec, Canada.
Richardson, who is married to actor Liam Neeson, had been reported in serious condition with a head injury by multiple outlets.
"We know that she has had an accident but we really do not know any more details," said Kika Markham, who is married to Richardson's uncle, Corin Redgrave. "We are very concerned."

Neeson left the set of a movie he was filming in Toronto to be by his wife's side.
"Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident," a rep for his film said in a statement to Canadian TV. "We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family."
Neeson's reps told FOXNews.com they had "no information at this time regarding this matter."
Mont Tremblant said Richardson fell on a beginner's trail during a ski lesson and later reported not feeling well. She was not wearing a helmet, nor was one required. "She did not show any visible sign of injury, but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor," said a statement from the resort.
Mont Tremblant spokeswoman Catherine Lacasse said Richardson was getting a private lesson and that she said she was fine at first.
"An hour later she said she didn't feel well. She had a headache, so we sent her to the hospital," Lacasse said. "There were no signs of impact and no blood, nothing."
Richardson, 45, is the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and the late director Tony Richardson. She married Neeson in 1994 after they both appeared in the film "Nell." The couple have two sons.
In January, Richardson and her mother played the roles of mother and daughter in a one-night benefit concert version of "A Little Night Music," in New York.
